Shaking Vibrating @ Stop W211
I am having a similar issue.
My 2006 E350 is shaking/vibrating when idle. This happens mainly at stop signs or traffic lights. This started about a week after I got a tune up and replaced engine and tranny mounts, which included replacing the spark plugs. I looked up some similar complaints and people were saying the sparks could be bad, but my mechanic assured me that if there was a misfire, there would be a check engine light. I have no check engine light.
The shaking vibration happens when:
Car stops and is in ‘Drive’
The vibration stops when (while car is at rest):
Car is in park, neutral (Haven’t tested reverse)
I release the brake slightly or very gently press the gas. (Barely enough to move the car)
I turn the steering wheel. Sometimes I turn the steering wheel and the vibration stops.
Just need some troubleshooting tips. Cheapest to most expensive. I don't want to spend money at the mechanic fixing a bunch of things that aren't the cause.

When it comes to components located in the engine or transmission, I don't buy after market parts. Since the mounts seem to be the prevailing recommendation, maybe I need to get them re-checked...

If I switch the mode to S, it will vibrate on gear”D” when stop; switching back to C, no vibration.
I think Engine/transmission mounts are old but not totally worn yet.

Engine mounts are a maintenance item. Do you have any record of them being replaced?

Got it, I thought it was kind of marker by factory workers. I don’t have any information from the pre-owner, a divorced lady, she knew nothing about the car of her pre-husband. Sad story......
