New member: AC vibration?

New to this forum as I've had little to no issues with my new to me e350 (2009). Since it's now the summer months I notice my car has a heavy vibration when the air conditioning is on. The fans in the front of the car are also on at full speed even when AC is on low. Operating temp is normal but this momentum vibrating feeling is getting annoying. Any suggestions? I have 180k

Could be the bearing on the AC compressor is going bad. If so, it would mean replacing the whole compressor as most shops will not just replace the bearing.

It may also be the engine mounts. W211 loves to eat engine mounts. At that mileage I would think anything connected to the belt would be due for replacement. Water pump, pulleys, tensioner, AC compressor, the belt itself, power steering (if it is not electric).

That could be possible, regarding bearing in compressor. I only have vibration when ac is on which leads me to believe it's an isolated issue. The tensioner and belt were replaced 3 months ago. Water pump 9 months ago. Unsure of power steering.

I thought bad mounts would have vibration a lot??

Definitive diagnose isolate the compressor with a shorter V-belt search 0119970492 (20 x 2330 to 2340 mm) for OEM & aftermarket.

There is some room in the engine bay to take the belt off and spin the ac pulley by hand. You should be able to feel any bearing roughness when spinning the bearing.

If you've never changed the mounts, they are probably bad. Start there anyway, cheap and good to do even if it's not the root cause of your issue, but i'd bet it probably is.
