COMAND TV Tuner possible?

I was just reading this COMAND TV tuner thing a member was explaining which initiates by holding MUTE + 1 + 3 at the same time, ergo, being presented with a submenu on whole new level...for the COMAND DVD-Navigation yet I believe it that tactic only works for the CL-Class.

Is there anything like that for us, E-class owners to see if that can be done without all that mumbo-jumbo wiring? If not, its okay I guess.

And please no reference to Tech Talk because I was in there searching and it wasn't there or I may have skipped right over it.

The method you described puts you into DIAG mode on many command systems. However, you can only view settings in DIAG mode, you CAN NOT change them.

Mute + 1 + 3 is for COMAND 2.0, any vehicle, while in the tuner screen (or tv tuner too I think).

It has nothing to do with the TV Tuner.

I have a TV Tuner in my W211, incidentally.

It's pretty cool. The newer ones let you hook up the screen to the TV Tuner. The older system (which I have) required a rear screen connection on the COMAND (which the US versions usually do not have). Now that connection has been moved to the TV tuner, so you can hook up the rear screen to the TV tuner, and two auxiliary a/v inputs. Then the remote control can control the TV tuner/aux inputs/DVD/phone through either the front or rear screens!

Scorchie, What kind of TV tuner do you use? Does any tuner work and is there any recommended ones. Getting my Euro DVD NAV installed tomorrow.

What's the rear screen and connection that you are referring to here?

What is the "MOST ring"? And, how does the TV Tuner acquire its signal (what channels would be available -- broadcast only, or is there some sort of satellite subscription?)?

How does it work?

I like toys.. tell me more...
