2004 E500 w/ AMG Sport Package

AMG Emblem & V8 sign on 2004 E500 AMG Sports Package

I have a 2004 E500 w/ AMG Sports Package

What do you think of

1.) Adding the AMG emblem on the back
2.) Adding the V8 sign to the side

Note: I wouldnt put V8 KOMPRESSOR...only the V8 part of the sign

Do you think that looks dumb?

Its your car, you can do anything you want with it. I think putting the AMG emblem is okay 'cause I've seen quite a few SL500 with AMG package has the AMG emblem on the trunk. I am a bit hesitant towards the V8 badge though.

AMG badge.. It is your car (and you can do what you want) but everytime I see a car that has an AMG sticker and it is not an AMG, I think in my head.. "lame..".

Sorry, I don't mean to offend, but that is what I think.. If it WAS an AMG it would have an AMG badge..

Maybe you should put a Ferrari emblem on the back..

You can put anything you want on the car, and even though it would have the badging, it isn't one. So who are you fooling? You won't be fooling yourself, you'd only be reminding yourself of what it ISN'T, instead of enjoying it for what it is... its NO slouch!

If I were you, I'd leave it the genuine, original way the car was delivered to me. No badging, pure originality.

Hey I should be getting my E500 tommorrow evening and I have addded the front and rear AMG bumpers and the quad exhaust and I want to do the exact same thing, AMG emblem on trunk and V8 badge on side. Do you think the V8 would look better where it is on E55 or near the rear like the V12 on 600's. Who's got these and an AMG flat hood badge?

Who are you trying to impress? The people who know about cars, know it isn't an AMG..

Now debadging an AMG, now that I think is cool.. Hehe..

2004 E-500 AMG Package, 2003 Jeep Rubicon (awesome offroader)

Hey, you did pay good money for the AMG package which does have the AMG lower front mesh grill, dual exhaust, and AMG 18" wheels. Have fun, if you like the emblem do it. I wouldn't do the V8 on the side though.

I added an AMG emblem to the right rear of my 04 E500 AMG Sports Package. I considered it after seeing on prior factory E430 AMG package. Enjoy the car!!!

i dont see anything wrong to put AMG on your trunk, as long as u dont change e500 to e55

if its ok for people to put Brabus on the trunk when they have wheels on, then y not AMG?

This is in the realm of personal taste, so nobody else's opinion counts as much as the opinion of the owner/driver. Since lyrixmajor did ask for opinions, though: to me, the rear trunk lid area of the W211 is on the visually "crowded" or "busy" side, with the M-B tristar logo jammed in between the trunk lid line and the brake light, and the model number badge on the left side. To me, the last thing that this area needs is more lettering - it's just more visual clutter. YMMV, of course.

i'm goign to forget about the V8...

i havent decided yet tottaly but i'm still think about the AMG on the trunk....

i just dont want people to think i'm trying to say i have an e55 when i have a e500.... i will definately leave the e500 badge.....

its weird because all my friends though i was crazy not to buy an e55....i paid 75,000 for my e500....its has almost every option which i wanted instead of a plain e55 with no options....

this is my first benz, i previouly had a lex gs300 which i was in love with, but i must admit i think i will bw a benz owner from now on....i guess i still need to adjust to the new fraternity i'm in...

i personally hate to see when people put a lot o crap on their cars and i like to keep it simple myself...

i'm 3 months into being a new benz owner and one thing i must say....girls never pulled me over in my gs300...i love this...LOL....LOL

give me some plusses and minuses to putting a simple AMG badge on the trunk...

i know i know...its my car and i can do what i want to do....dut i value everyones opinion....in fact this forum has always steered me in the right direction...

I would defintely not put AMG badges on the car and wouldn't even consider the V8 badges.

I agree with atssystems - who are the badges for? Anyone who is familiar with the car will think... "hmmmm.... what a poser"

Those not familiar with the car might think that AMG stands for your initials

Exactly.. Just to show you.. I used to think that 4MATIC was the transmision..

I remember saying to my wife, why would Mercedes brag about having a 4 speed transmission.. Hehe.. DUH!

In my opinion, only other car freaks know what AMG is and they also know your car is not an AMG..

I agree with Thugout, as long as you leave the E500 on there it should be okay. After all, the exhaust, wheels and front spoiler are AMG. You are not claiming that you have an E55. I added the emblem to the back of my 2004 E500 AMG Sports.

I should have pictures posted shortly.

I don't think that you are posing by adding one simple brand badge in the back. As a matter of fact, aesthetically it looks pretty good.
