Why would MB not make the AMG Sports Package include LED Brake lights?

I know my dealer Autohaus was being nice to change the grill from 4 blade/grey to 5 blade/black for me....

But i personally think that if all other sports packages have LED Rear lights the amg sports package should have it too...


Who can i complain to at MB about this....

they could have at least made it an option

I 100% agree with you..... I think that the AMG sport package should come with all of the features that the regular Sport Package has(except the wheels and sport bodywork, of course). Here's where you can e-mail MBUSA about itHopefully they'll consider it !! :p

You still can order and change them out yourself. It's not that hard to do! You are right though about this being an option. MB NA has a lot of things messed up in the import process. Contact them!

how can you tell the diff between LED lights and no LED?

I called the parts dept and gave them my VIN and they said my car comes with LED. doesnt seem like the LED to me thats on the Sports pkgs and the e55

this doesnt look like LED to me

I also have a complaint, wished that my AMG package had white instrument back just like the one with appearance package.

Not sure what LED lights are. So can't really comment.

Look for cirlces at the top of the light. These are the LED's.

The AMG does not come with white gauges, black grille or LED lights.

It comes with a different front and rear bumper, side skirts, exhaust tips and wheels. That is it.

why cant they make these an option then?

also does the amg pkg comes w/ blue tint windows?

The way they have alligned the products, only an AMG or the Appearance package come with these.

But it isn't weird. Your car is not an AMG. If they gave you the same exterior and interior then they also would offer an AMG engine and supercharger upgrade. What next AMG brake upgrade and exhaust, where does it end.

There has to be a difference between the cars. If a person with an AMG had a car that appeared the same as a lower model, people probably would not buy it..

This is why they have different models and as they get more expensive the items on them are more exclusive..

It really sounds like you should have got an AMG..

but think of this....why does the less expensive appearance pkg have these options the AMG does?

meanwhile the more expensive AMG sports pkg doesnt have the options and doesnt give you the option to pay extra to add...

The reason is this. This Appearance package does not look ANYTHING like an AMG. So, people that actually purchased an AMG feel their car is different.

Trust me on this.. I know a lot about the difference in products (and perceived difference) offered across a companies product line.

its not really the price of the option you pay for...

its really that MB doesnt want to offend high end owners with a lesser priced vehicle that look almost exactly the same.....

some people rebadge their cars...i wouldnt personally...i just look at the brakes and calipers and say...fakers...but to each their own....i guess its whatever makes you happy....

Here's why:

In Europe/Asia, there are 3 trim lines, namely Classic, Elegance & Avantgarde. The elegance trim line is what is being sold in the US as standard. The Avantgarde trim line is the appearance package in the US, which includes LED tails, blue tinted glass, bird's eye maple wood, 17" wheels, aluminum shift knob, 5 blades grill, and lower bodywork. In order to have LED tails, you have to order both AVANTGARDE & AMG package, what lyrixmajor & maxdog have now is ELEGANCE & AMG package.
