depends on what type of suspension you have. if you have regular shocks. You can take it to any shops that sells lowering sports springs. I took my car to RB tech to get the exhaust built. I know they do lowering for airmatic suspension. But, I don't want to recommand it. since they made a mistake and were too busy to deal w/ Ferrari, Bentley customers to fix a little mercedes E class's problem. D2 is reputable. but I heard they are $$. There is also F1 racing. no clue how they are.. well, sorry couldn't give you helpful tips.. good luck.

TWS is a great shop. Sander (the owner) is one of the nicest guys you'll meet, and he'll always give you a reasonable price. The mechanic Pete does great work too.

I just had my car lowered (H&R springs) at F1 motorsports in North Hollywood. I'm happy with the result. Just ask for Chris and tell him that Tom send you.

hey thanks for all your comments. i have contact D2, TWS, RB Tech well the prices are as follow. D2-$500, TWS-350, Rb-400. D2 rep didn't sound very nice on the phone, Rb tech wants me to pay in advance though Benzoparts.com (too much hassle), and TWS is the most helpful of the bunch and explain to me what they where going to do. i think i will go with TWS. thanks again.

I had my car lowered by Vision Autosport...the owner is a good friend of D2's and they're all networked together. Their price is a "little" less than D2...plus they do good work!

Lowered my airmatic in 1.5 hours.. Look for Nat and tell him Arnee with the Grey E320 sent you.

Tws

Sanders and Ben at The Wheel Supply (TWS) are a class act.
They lowered my 03' and my '04 E500. Once it's lowered they will make sure the drop is where you want it and adjust accordingly.

I'll be going back for my Brabus exhaust and rims.

Lowered mine myself, but bought the front brackets from TWS. Pleasure to deal with, and very helpful. One of the brackets broke, and they replaced it right away before I had to send the broken one back to them.

Nothing serious. The OEM and the TWS brackets are shown in this thread

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=43817

In the OEM bracket, the bolts are welded to the L bracket. In the TWS, they are epoxied. On the one I initially had, there was not enough epoxy so when I was ratcheting the nut on, the bolt broke loose from the L bracket. They replaced it with no hassle.

If you ever adjust it, or remove it, I would recommend using two wrenches instead of just relying on the epoxy to affix the bolt to the L bracket.

The rears also use brackets? If so, can we also adjust the rears like the fronts? The other threads don't go into detail about the rears...

They charged $150 for the pair. With a little ingenuity, you could easily modify the OEM. I wanted to keep mine, however. What did they charge for the brackets and install? Probably $140

Arnee:

The rear is mechanically adjusted by moving the location of the rear sensor rearword. I don't know of any bracket, but it would appear to be possible by shortening the length of the linkage arm (having the same effect). Access to replace the linkage, however, would be difficult.

There are a number of threads (with pictures) discussing the rear.

Ahh I see, so you only purchased the brackets for the fronts. I assumed that you ordered parts from TWS for the rears also. I've seen the threads RE: the rear sensors. I'm just curious as to how the shops lower the rears.

Thanks.

i know this sound like a rip off compared to your deal but they charge me 350 for the lowering, but they main thing is that they were very easy people to work with and wanted the customer to be happy at all cost. good place to do business. without this forum i would not know where to lower my car. thanks.

I agree, this forum has been a great help. If the suspension had been a common spring/shock tower system, it would be easy. However, with the airmatic, I wouldn't know were to begin without this forum. As it turns out, it is even easier than replacing the shocks and springs.

Anyway, your lowering included the rear. While relocation of the sensor is simple in concept, it is more work than the fronts. Good Luck.

Agree!

The guys there are pretty nice to deal with. I order mine MAYA STM 20" from them last week and no problem. I actually went to D2 earlier for the same wheels, but the guy I spoke with wasn't friendly at all, so I did not give D2 the business. Sometimes price is an issue, but if the price wasn't too much of different, I rather fine someone that will "works" with me. If you got the $$$ for a E class, few $k on rims isn't a big issue. I heard TWS were good too, at least they are friendly enough when I call in for pricing.

just my experience.
