In Nero, you click the column header. Then it will be sorted. I use a program called "File and MP3 Name Tagger". There you can easly construct filenames from the ID Tags in all kind of combinations.

What exaclty is meant by the term MP3 CD Player?
I have read the thread about MP3 players with growing interest, assuming it meant som type of hard disk or solid state music system. More careful reading suggests that is actaully just referring to the abilty of the CD player to play CDs that contain MP3s. Is that right? I have been told that my factory fitted cd changer already does this without any software upgrade or other changes - not tried it though

Have you got COMAND? If so you will just need a software upgrade to the COMAND system.
Good luck,
John

There are a few members from the UK, and hopefully they will respond. Unfortunately I have the COMAND option which had to have a software upgrade before it would play Mp3's
Good luck with your quest

Since you do not have COMAND, your only chance to play MP3's it to use the CD changer. If your car was produced after April 24th '04 (I think that was the date), it will have MP3 changer. If not, you will have to replace the changer. It will work together with the APS50

Re, Steve NL....
Can anyone lead me to that cool site with all the pictures of his merchandise? I think it's an MSN picture library, or something similar. Thanks...

Hello,
Anyone here has the software to update the console? Mine is 2004 W211 US Model. I read in this forum that some people are able to play MP3 by upgrading the software only. Will this work on US or just Euro model?

Thanks Oslo,
At the moment we are more than pleased with everything about our vehicle and cannot justify getting the new CD changer.
It sounds like a DVD full of Mp3's might well out play a CD changer full of Mp3's

Hi, new here. Just got a used 04 E500 on Thursday. I have the same quesiton as IPOLO. Can the firmware in a 04 head unit be updated to play MP3's? If yes does this mean the 04 6 disc changer will also play MP3's. My system will only play MP3's that have been converted to standard Audio format. I can only get the track name to display, not the artist. Using standard ID3 track tags and file naming conventions.
Any help here would be appreciated.

Thanks Oslo, that's what I thought but wanted to confirm it. Now all I need to do is to get CD text to work correctly on MP3's burned to Audio CD format. All I get is the track title, no CD name or artist. Burning CD's with Nero.
