AMG Badge

What mathematical dimensions would I use to add an AMG badge to the rear of my car?

Maybe you should post your question in the E55 AMG forum. I'm sure that some owner of a real E55 AMG will have some advice for you.

You can buy the alignment tool at the dealership, if you really would like it to be correctly placed.

Here's the part number for the tool: 211 589 09 23 00

It should cost $18.

"Heck with the E55 guys"? Two E55 guys are the ones that helped you! Seems the E500 guys complain more about the AMG badge!

I would be critical if you removed the E500 badge or otherwise tried to pass the car off as an E55, but that's not the case at all so .... cool.

Not trying to be a smart ***, but just curious why you "didn't want an E55".

I am more into looks than power. I wanted to custom order the E55 with all wood interior, a wooden steering wheel etc. I wanted a luxury interior with a sporty exterior. The sales person claimed that I couldnt do that because

1. AMG models have only aluminum interior trimming
2. No wooden steering wheel on AMG models

2 months after I got my car I saw an E55 their with all wooden interior. I was upset. No wooden steering wheel though but I found out later their are some good aftermarket stuff for that.

Next car will be a SL55 hopefully in the next 2-3 years. But I'm driving this E500 till the wheels fall off...

Never completely believe what a salesperson tells you.

1) W211 AMG models don't have aluminum... only wood... 2003 and 2004

2) Any wooden steering wheel for a W211 will work, just no shift buttons

Looks good , although I agree with Scorchie that it may be slightly high.

Is there really a tool just for emblem placement?

It looks good..

You can actually order the E500 with the brown wood. There is an option number for that.

Also, the wood wheel is also an option I have seen in the order book as well on the AMG.

Aluminum interior.. I have never heard of that.

No offense, but take this from a guy who wants both luxury and power...I HATE people making thei 330's and ///M...or their everyday car and AMG.
I understand you left the E500 there..and its your choice to put the badge on there. But If i see that on the road, im gonna laugh for about 5 minutes straight bc I think you want attention for something you really dont have. AMG is an entire package..not just bc you have some aero kit that came with the car..
But again, your call.

Your concerns are all irrelavant too. The only AMG that came with aluminum was the C32..that line. An E55, S55, etc. come with the Black birds eye maple. You want the "brown wood"? People have been able to order their E55's with the burl wood, so that is also an invalid reason. You want a wood steering wheel with your E55? There are SEVERAL aftermarket options for that.

If you do or dont have themoney to buy the car, is not my business...just want to make sure you knew the REAL facts before jumping to the wrong conclusions. But I guess I was too late to help you.

I remember a time before AMG was owned by benz when people only got the aero kit and put AMG badge on.

I've seen an SL600 with an AMG badge. Would you laugh at him? Obviously money is not an option for him. I've seen many CL500 with the AMG badge. I dont want to get in a pissing contest. i stated my reason and even though i was misinformed, i cant do anything about it now. I'm sure i remember saying i saw a E55 with all wood at the dealership and asking them why I couldnt have gotten that.

I'm not trying to say I have an AMG engined car. Obviously any idiot who sees the E500 will know that.

Why can someone get a Brabus kit and put Brabus on their car or even RennTech, but an AMG kit doesnt deserve the same thing?

Thats why we live in this great country of ours. we can do what we want to do. As I said before if I wanted to put DON JUAN DEMARCO on the back it would be my perogative. Man do i hate negativity.

My next car will be an SL55 or SL600 hopefully if the stock market makes some nice runs in the next few years. What nice about the SL55 that no other model has is the fact they give you so many wood option with the AMG model. If i got an SL600 w/ AMG Sport Package would i put an AMG badge on the back. HELL YEAH.

Respect your opinion though. But o well.
