International Driver's license
I am flying to Germany next week to pick up my new car. MB sent a letter that stated if I am traveling to Austria (which I am), I will need an international driver's license. Where do I get one of those? I am not a member of AAA, nor do I wish to be.

You don't have to be a AAA member. Just go to one of their offices to get an international drivers license. There's just a few questions to answer. It should take no more than 10 minutes.

You will probably post info on your car before I get a chance. I've elected not to take my laptop; instead I've got 3gb of CF cards for my digital camera. With over a week to go, the sleepless nights have already started!

We are taking the laptop and expect the most thoughout the trip. Anyway, stop by an Internet cafe and give a trip report...
Are you planning to take you floor mats, warning triangle, and firstaid kit home with you?

Nein, we made our own tour. Centered around three themes: castles and medieval history (Romantic Road, Salzburg), cities (Munch and Vienna), and cars (MB Classic Center, MB, Porsche, & BMW museums).

We are taking the Black Forest rally. I am skipping Munich, however, and staying an additional night at the Interalpen resort.
Yes, I plan on packing the floor mats, warning triange, and first aide kit. I'll also try and snag the front plate off the car if possible.

We had initially signed up for it...then when we ranked what we wanted to see, and the limited time (16 days), we decided to head northeast from Stutgart rather than southwest.
Where are you departing from? We are dropping off in Munich on either the 13th or 14th.
