SRS Weight Sensing System repair
My WSS sensors on the front passenger seat just started going out. Replaced one from a junkyard car and then another one died. To make matters worse I broke one of the bolts while re-tightening it, and the plastic washer/bushing that goes around the bolt broke in half too. Does anyone know a good source for these sensors new, and also the bolts and washers? I've found sets of the sensors on eBay but I really don't trust used parts for a safety critical system and I haven't found the bolts or the washers anywhere. Thanks!

Holy guacamole Batman! Those are some crazy expensive bolts and washers! The sensors are pretty expensive too. I'm wondering if I'd be better off going used after all

I've got an error because of the rear 2 sensors on the passenger seat. I should probably get under there and make sure it's not some sort of wiring issue but I've never really messed with removing the seats before. I feel like I'll break more than I fix digging around in there. Mechanic quoted $1300 w/ labor to replace them which seemed a bit crazy for a car that is quickly outlasting its welcome.

I came up with a temporary fix for the disintegrated plastic washer inside the seat frame. Still need to work on fixing the actual sensors but at least my seat doesn't rock like crazy for now.
I got another bolt from a junkyard car to replace the one I broke tightening last time. This is how it fits into the sensor. The plastic washer goes around the smaller diameter collar and the weight of the seat rests on the plastic washer. The larger diameter collar fits into the hole in the seat frame but the bolt does not snug all the way up. That's why I overtightened it last time.
I went to Home Depot looking for anything I could find that would work as a temporary replacement for the plastic washer and I found this 1/2" PEX pipe.
The smaller diameter collar on the bolt fits into it PERFECTLY! I mean so perfectly it's like it was made to fit.
So I cut off a small piece equal to the width of the old plastic washer...
...and put it on the bolt to test fit.
I got the width just right on the first try.
The only part that isn't ideal is the shape of it, since the original washer is rounded on top to fit into the socket in the seat frame. I was able to get my improvised plastic washer in using some pliers and then slid the bolt thru the frame and the washer and lastly slid the sensor on. Tightened down the two screws holding the sensor on first, and then gently tightened the nut onto the bolt. I was careful not to over-tighten it. You never really feel the torque build so I just kept checking and stopped when there were two threads exposed on the bolt, same as there are on the other side.
Now my seat no longer moves around, but I'm still not satisfied with this as a long term fix. The WSS fault still exists which is causing the SRS light to be on and my airbags are disabled, and the seat is still more wobbly than I would prefer. My driver seat is solid as a rock, and I would love for the passenger seat to be mounted this solidly.
