Studded Snow Tires for Appearance Package E's?
Looking at getting studded snow tires for the 17" wheels that come with the Appearance Package on the W211 E Class. Nokia (Nokian) apparently has a 16" which would require getting new wheels, but have not been able to confirm that a 17" is available yet that will fit the 2004 E. Anyone aware of a source for a 17" Nokia (Nokian) or other maker.

Nokian Hakkapeliittas are studded tires in 17" sizes. However the biggest will lower you car and I'm not sure they import the 17" sizes into the US.

I have dunlop winter sport tires and a separate set of 5 star wheels and they have worked great. In the winter I have driven through the infamous Cleveland weather, Pennsylvania mountains and all over the place with rear wheel drive and these tires and I have been VERY pleased. The entire package only cost me around $1,000.00 USD through tirerack...

Are the Dunlop winter sports tires available studded? Anyone else know of studded snows that work on the W211 E Class, and in particular ones that would not require getting new wheels by allowing use of the 17 inch wheels that come with the appearance package?

Right after a snowfall they were OK but as soon as the roads cleared I hated to get in the car!

Just a note to let others know I finally found that the 17" Nokian studded snow tires are available in the US. If you find a dealer who carries Nokians you should be able to get them.
