W211 Engine Swap (M272 --> M276)
I have been having issues with my 2007 E350 and the M272 engine in it. Specifically, a potential balance shaft issue or timing chain issue that could cost me more than I originally paid for the car. One option I have is to replace the engine.
I was wondering if there was any way an M276 engine could fit in my 2007 E350. The M276 is far more reliable than the M272.
Thanks!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Although the W212 had the M272 for the first two years and then was replaced by the M276 in the same body style in 2012/2013. But I think it'd need a ton of other not so obvious work and if you have to come here to ask, he probably doesn't have the skill to figure it out on his own and no one else has done it so probably best to just find a 2008-2009 M272 engine and swap it in.
Best way to upgrade to an M276 would be to buy a 2012-2016 E-350 W212 that came with that engine. Will probably be cheaper.
