Parameter steering pump on non-parameter steering engine

Parameter steering pump on non-parameter steering engine

I am in the middle of an engine swap, taking out an 06 engine and putting in an 07. the 07 is Not wired for parameter/variable steering and did not come with its own pump.

what are the consequences if I run the pump from the 06 but not hooked up electrically. Will it work ok and will the computers be happy?

You could code it as ‘not present’ saving you the error of not being connected.

how do I code it? New to the brand.

The perimeter steering control is built into the rack not the pump. I don't know why there's a wire going to your power steering pump take a picture of it.

Solenoid valve (y10) is wired to ESP module, you may have a problem.

First photo is the wire going to the p/s pump. It branches off the wire going to the a/c on the 2006 harness. It’s black/pink and red/green.




the plug on the p/s pump sits behind where the high pressure banjo bolt goes in

I was approaching from steering gear, misunderstanding you’re referring to 12. You can attempt to manipulate a retrofit (FYI solenoid valve wiring harness 18/33 wiring diagram above is part 2115400709), ultimately wired to n47-5. Not certain if MB diagnostics will eliminate coding for speed-sensitive steering since it is associated with ESP, etc.

I have a feeling I will need to wire it in to avoid issues. Do I swap wiring harnesses or do a retrofit? Looking for least time consuming option here which is leaning me toward retrofit, but I need to know where to splice these wires in.
