So who's used BenzNinja?
As a private Club, we have a zone-related membership policy that might change in the future accepting more.
Hoping that you will understand this.
Kind Regards,
BN
I have an Innova 3210RS and the Repair Solutions 2 app on my phone. That was fine to quickly scan the car at purchase for any issues. No codes after 2 weeks and runs fine. It has been a well looked after car, dealership visits every 10k km for service and now has 113k km.
I'm mechanically inclined and prefer to do my own servicing.
Would the BenzNinja membership & software be of significant value for this era of car or should I be looking at something different? Is it SDS/Xentry based?
Are the laptops listed on the BenzNinja site still the recommended ones to use? What else would I need to purchase and where from?
Thanks in advance for any useful comments.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Any one have past experience with Benzninja, I would like to know what exactly are they, just software or hardware or even just a scam!

Subject to your geographic location, he will accept you.
You pay for membership to the Benz Ninja club.
He will then assist you with the purchase of the kit. (He guided me to an EBay site and I get everything that I paid for)
He will check that you have a suitable laptop, that you will dedicate solely to your car. No other software or games on it.
If you don’t, he will give you the specs for a suitable laptop.
Once you have the kit, he will log in to your laptop and set up all the necessary software and systems that allow you to inspect and work on your
Car. He will then guide you and help with connections and setup when connected to your car.
Some things are included in your membership and some other special modifications are restricted to certain models and some are charged a little bit extra.
I am a happy customer. He is available, I have got excellent results, like a replacement ECU, which he remoted in, backed up the old one, and reprogrammed the new one, once I fitted it.
Very happy and can confirm he is an expert in the field and knows more than many MB techs at the dealerships…
Be patient and go one step at a time.

Waiting for all the hardware to arrive before moving to next phase. Super easy, quick responses. I'm happy so far!!
All in about $1380. Laptop $150, membership $540, hard drive $90 and C4 unit $600.
Simple dedicated laptop, mostly I assume that it's a known single point device so they don't ever get into laptop issues during install or whatever AND they send a standard SSD drive that's easy to install by enduser. $100-250. Doesn't need a hard drive as you buy the benzninja hard drive from them and it gets sent preloaded with OS and all software.
Benzninja membership price is slightly up due to tariffs. "Trump fees". Only around $40 more than the advertised $499. $460€ or ~$540US
Then his buddy messaged within a couple minutes, before I even finished the previous step, to introduce himself and let me know about the hard drive. Sent me a PayPal request, $89.
And finally, I paid top dollar for the C4 doip vehicle interface, but only because I wanted to make sure I got everything, in new condition etc. I didn't search at all, I purchased the link he sent me from fee bay, $543 plus tax etc. = $601
The hardest part is trying to find a reasonable cost on the laptop. It's a simple device but old. Not many to choose from and I was against spending $250 on that just on principle. Took a couple hours searching feebay but finally found one that accepted my offer when I told them I didn't need the hard drive. $135 plus tax.
I didn't ask the pricing on the custom stuff through benzninja but based on others responses, it seems reasonable compared to driving to a shop and paying someone, plus I get all the other perks of having something in hand AND I have a resource just a click away.
To be clear, I'm only buying for simple things, like ILS, coding out the SOS error message, drive mode memory etc. I have a warranty for the next 6 years so any real issues it can go to the dealer. I typically purchase whatever first line product is available and seems best for each vehicle I own. I have nanocom for my D2's, iiD Gap for my LR4 and VAG/VCDS on the Audi and VIDA/DICE on the wifey wagon. Anyway, I've used them all to some level or another and definitely below dealer pricing even just diagnosis pricing. And the Mercedes so far, seems like I'll use it the most. So $1400 is a no brainer. Example, dealer quoted $431 just to diagnose the SOS error message. And that's after I paid $1800 for 5 years of mbrace and they can't get the message to go away or some of the features to work, like remote start. What a scam. If I pay $1800 for something, it should work. I shouldn't get a response from the dealer that says that's a third party issue and they don't get involved other than diagnosis and repair. mbrace says they can't resolve and it needs to go to dealer. But I paid for a service and it's not working, now I have to pay for diagnosis?!? WTF? That's another story for another thread though.
Anyway, a reasonable cost for Benzninja membership and one click away help. Super excited to get started in a could weeks once everything arrives.

I try to solve problems without asking Peter if possible and so far l have succeeded and not needed him to dial in other than setting up the PC and unlocking Agility/Manual modes on my gearbox. Great peace of mind having Peter a text message away though.

The C4 is completely waste of money, nobody use C4 anymore. Openport for 15$ is much more stable. Ninja it;s just a scam, he force his lifetime members to bring other clients as he has to pay coders.
Also he post here under 58 acronyms praising his own name.
It's a very big scam.
It's abnormal and illegal to let your AMG to be coded under chinese crack and nigerian "knowledge". Sometimes the road has a left turn...

So your opinion about Openport is meaningless
C6 C5...and all that is just Chinese generic names for nothing related with Mercedes
Openport is a replica of Tactrix and this has a driver so good as the Bosch original VCI became 0 value.
Is not about Openport HW, is only about the driver
I am a professional coder and I am also trained at the highest level at MB, you.... only forward ninja stolen copyrighted solutions and software and because of that you are in corporate complicity

Dude, everyone’s had enough of your crap. You’re not fooling anyone — you’re in Romania, not where you claim. Stop spamming people with your sketchy services through PMs. Your lies don’t fly here. Get a real job and quit being a scammer.
Is Tactrix freeware? If not wouldn't that make Openport copied software as well?
