Hey guys, long story short I'm currently stuck in the NICU with our 3 week old daughter so don't have means to measure this myself 🤦♂️
I'm trying to figure out the measurement of the attached image. Basically the difference in length between the standard and 4matic lower mounting points for the front struts. The "u" portion if you will.
Would like a measurement of the distance highlight in red if possible.
The height is there to clear the front axle shafts, the 2wd strut has much shorter forks of course, but the overall strut length will be about the same. I have a 4matic wagon I can measure tomorrow, but the front does not have air suspension.
Wishing you the best with the baby, it's amazing what they can do these days in the NICU.

Thank you sir! And yes, I know the reason for it. I have an 09 e550 4matic. Just can't measure the damn thing in the parking garage. Haha. (I'm thinking about doing a coil over conversion and talking with them about making the lower mounting point for us 4matic guys)
Thanks much! She's a fighter, just hard to stomach sometimes.
Why not source some used front struts from a 320/350 4matic? There is already an aftermarket conversion kit for the rear.
Could definitely do that! But by the time I spent the funds there, I could likely snag these coil overs for just a bit more. I like the adjustment on the coil overs. And they are bolt in on the rear (they supply an adapter that turns the lower bag mounting hole into a spring perch)

The factory W211 coil overs are height adjustable.
