Low miles E320 CDI runs well, but wrecked.
SOLD!
FYI -This formerly beautiful, low miles replacement for my previous CDI “tapped” from behind on the interstate back in August and has been in an open garage since. When I purchased it from the dealer it had 110,000 miles on it and was spotless. Garage-kept, the older gentleman who owned it took really good care of it.
Car is in Richmond VA.
The car that tapped me kept on driving while I was spun into the cushioned crash barrier at the end of the concrete Jersey barrier. (it didn’t feel cushioned) Oddly, the front air bags did not deploy. Then, two seconds after I came to a stop a car behind me lost control and t-boned on the passenger side. I have to tell you how incredibly grateful I am to the German’s that built this vehicle as it saved me from serious injury or worse. After smashing into the barrier at highway speed and then being t-boned, this amazing car never shut down, no fluids leaked, and it continued to purr as the wrecker driver pulled it right up onto his truck! If the 2nd hit hadn’t happened, I would have had the front end repaired and kept it. Here’s a chance to get a low miles engine/transmission.
It has 122,000+ original miles, Harmon Kardon, CD changer, NAV (needs new cable end in trunk), sunroof, rear & side blinds, heated seats and more. The interior was in great shape until the safety glass spewed into the cabin and the side airbags deployed. No cracks in the burl walnut trim that I saw.
Color – 747U Perlite gray metallic (has more of a blue/gray cast to it)
***I posted this in the Marketplace, but wanted to share with this forum as you have been a huge resource in the past. ($3,000)

I'd part it out, but have nowhere is store it. At a family members house for now, but I couldn't leave it there and cannibalize it. I start it and run around the property periodically.

Thank you to all for the feedback. I sold it this morning to someone who has also owned several CDI's. His current car had 200,000+ miles on it and he wanted a low mileage matching engine and tranny and the seats.
