Please cast your votes - Brabus or AMG?
Peeps,
I just got a 2003 E500 peweter metallic with ash. I am planning to tint ti 20% and drop it 1" via the airmatic suspension. I am also looking at wheels (19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back). I narrowed it down to two choices - Brabus Monoblock VI and AMG (both replicas). Please please let me know what you think.
Here are the coices:
Brabus:

Well
Most replicas are made under license from name brands (the AMGs for instance are made by ASA which is a licensed BBS company) so the only difference is weight. Which, in fact, is not that much more than the stock 16"s (maybe 3-4 lbs a wheel). As I am obviously going for looks and not performance I thought why spend an extra $2K?
Now, what's your preference?

AMG, but I definitely like the one piece look as in the link in the previous post rather than the multipiece. That's just personal taste though.

Order's in
Just ordered a set of Brabus 19"s staggered wrapped in Pirelli's from Redline European Motorsport in Cali. Should be ariving here in Boston next week, will post an update.
Everything with tires mounted, balanced, lugs, bolts, Mercedes center caps and shipping was an even $1900. Seems like killer deal. The alternative was the AMG replicas from TireRack with Dunlop tires for about $2000. Obviously price was not the determining factor, it seems like Brabus wheels look more agressive which is what I was looking for. Can't wait to get that fat lip on the car...
But, by all means, keep registering votes - so far it seems to be a tie.
Thanks,
Sergiu

If I had to choose it would be the AMG's, but without all those 'bolts'
Good luck with your choice,

I second that! Not that I'm into baseball that much, but who says the Sox have to wait till next year? Huh? Huh?

Whichever one is available (1 of 5)
Look under New Class (W211) Picture thread. Post by member 'trezaei' on 12/23/2003 shows a picture of the Brabus Monoblock VI or replica. Also another member 'Arnee' posted a picture of his E320 with Monoblock VI replica wheels in one of the threads (I am waiting for him to tell me which thread). I like the 6-spoke over the 5-spoke AMG.

Dropping a suspension just by Airride is a mediocre answer BTW without someone tweaking the heck out of your alignment. Your suspension geometry will always be off. An inch, not so bad, but you will have tire wear and tracking issues. No free lunches in this world.
