2006 E350

Hello to all my fellow benzie pushers!
I drive a 2006 Beautiful pearl white E350, bought it for my birthday a few years ago. I live on the eastern Shore of Va. I'm a native New Yorker though !
She has about 135,000 miles on her, she drives well. I had a few minor issues nothing serious. But right now I am having an issue with the volume on the radio. When I get in the car she will play nice and loud nice and clear, but after a few minutes she will start to go quiet. But every time I turn it off and let it sit it will come back on and then good back down like before. I was told it has a auto volume adjuster, but how can I reset it so that the radio stays up? It used to do it before but it stopped and was working fine, then all of a sudden it did it again and now it won't fix it self. I tried turning it up with the knob as well as the buttons on the steering wheel, any 2006 E350 owners out the know the trick?

I suggest you have an independent erase stored codes and pull current using Xentry (MB diagnostics). If it turns out had unit is malfunctioning provide VIN and I will pull compatible part #s to shop used.
