Question 08 E350 Wagon - Button to Close the Tailgate, Change Bulb

I know this is just a little thing, but I try to fix all the faults in Xentry. I have a Fault 9000, stored, for tailgate operation. Here is my working hypothesis: I think the button to close the tailgate should be lit/on. It is not. So I think what ever is inside the button is burned out. Is this an example were you just replace this switch, there is no way to replace the bulb/light inside it, or you can take it out and replace it? In case I am not being clear, here is a picture of a E350 close switch:

Might be corroded, and there's a led inside, no bulb. At least on my S211 rear door closing button is like that. Doesn't work, corroded with a led.

Thanks for the response. I'll pull it and have a look at it. I've managed to save a couple of connectors that were corroded by soaking them and cleaning with a wire brush.

These 2 buttons are more than meet the eye... they are a solderless CAN Module that signals operations on CAN-B.

Simple fix is to take 10mn to resolder a few loose internals - How look around links in my signature. You can try, nothing to loose with a module already bad.
No1 Tip : unplug batts before modules will minimize pain when car spots misssing gear and gets lunatic. Read that simple tip again.
No power helps the car know nothing - Disconnecting batt Reboots the system into a very responsive mood 👏

If that does not fly then deal with the amazing trunk pull module and schematic diagram of this system.
I know the 212 trunk module, unsure about 211 incarnation... may be a close match.
It's a simple entry-level mix of electromechanicals to pull on trunk springs... needs lube now!!

This is fairly entry level stuff.... no sweat necessary.
✌️

On the sedans, the wires by the trunk get cut so the light tends to go out as one problem with a broken wire. Not sure how the wires are run on the wagon so it could also be a wiring fault somewhere else.
