2007 E350, Brake Lamp always on

Hey guys, I just joined this forum today. I own a 2007 MB E350 Base (I think), and I noticed recently that my Brake Lamp would always be on, and one of the bulbs on both of my taillights wasn’t on.

I just replaced both tail light bulb carriers and now all the bulbs work perfectly fine. However, the brake lights are still on. I feel like it looks really ugly and it ruins the look of my car. Please help!

- So I checked the brake light switch and it seems perfectly fine. The light still won’t go off, also I haven’t received any error messages for a Brake or ESP or SRS.

I would disconnect the brake light switch connector, if the light stays on you got a circuit problem in the back. It is getting powered by another circuit

- Okay I’ll try that. How do you recommend U disconnect the brake light switch connector. Is it just a wire or do I pull the whole thing out?

Is your 3rd brake light lit with the outer brake lights? If not, I doubt the switch being faulty.

what hints the other two are being powered by something else. Short? Green crusties?

It's a connector. I don't know how you checked the brake light switch. Has 4 connectors on it. Couldn't tell the difference between the new one and the old one seemed about the same. But they go bad all the time and give you an ESP error although the brake lights still works. It's a cheap enough part that you're spending more time diagnosing it than just replacing the part. Even if that's not your problem, you mind as well replace it now.
