Sbc break counter reset
How to determine SBC total actuation count or to reset
Start engine. (Note: If you only are checking the total actuation count and not resetting the count, the engine does not need to be running.)
Start xentry, go through multiple menus to your car's data then select:
Control units
Chassis
SBC sensotronic brake control
Development data (should be at the bottom of the page)
Actuations
Complete index of Actuations
Break: To only get the count, select “Bremsenzaehler (DF_GetBrLiveTime)”. This gives the total actuations to date. To reset the count, go to the next step. If only monitoring for maintenance purposes, back out of the program now using F1 key.

drive for at least 10 minutes. (or let idle)

Please note, I got brake warnings last year and after ignoring them, my brake pressure was gone when I was driving about 60mph on the highway. That was terrifying...Again, get it sorted the right way

Edited to add: Not to mention that I don't want to be in traffic with you in those conditions.
SBC is an electric hydraulic braking system. It has a pressure generator motor (which wears out), and also a pressure accumulator (it too, also wears out).
The counter on the SBC module is increased based on how many brake applications are made and the force of each one, in order to gauge the estimated wear of the motor and accumulator. Of course, SBC also does a check on the pressure rails whenever the car is woken up before a drive, but the counter is a better way for it to gauge long term wear and tear.
Mercedes were quite conservative with the counter, so when you get the brake failure warning, it will always happen before your SBC actually fails.
By resetting the counter you are erasing the SBCs memory of its previous use, therefore trucking it into thinking all components on it are brand new....which for obvious reasons is seriously dangerous and stupid to do!
Loosing your brakes on the motorway is never worth it to avoid a trip to the dealer or a £300 refurbished unit....
