2007 Auxiliary Battery

I'm hoping someone can set me straight, as I've searched the threads here and on YouTube and have conflicting information.

I have a 2007 E350 wagon (165,000 mi), and yesterday it went into limp mode: It won't shift out of low gear. I've read that it could be the auxiliary battery, but I've also read that mine might not have an auxiliary battery. I've looked under the cabin air cleaner and popped the panel on the driver's side dash. No battery.

Any ideas?

One battery. That’s what I was afraid of. I,made an appointment with my local shop but they can't get it in for a week.

No error codes. It just stopped shifting into higher gears. I guess I'll find out next week.

If it's still in limp mode there should be some error code. Is it a 4matic? 4matic has the connector that can wick up transmission fluid. Otherwise for the 7 speed rwd, probably the conductor plate. You can send it out to get it rebuilt so it wouldn't need to be recoded. Cheaper than a new one.

Ah...I misspoke. There is no error message displayed. I have not used a scanner.
My repair shop mentioned the conductor plate, so we'll find out when they take the car on Monday.

Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping to keep my old girl going. It's a great vehicle.
