DaimlerChrysler Presidentīs car stolen
Just for reference, a news article states (it is in Spanish so I will not post it) as follows:
___________________
Mr. Juergen Schrempp's (president of DaimlerChrysler) official car was stolen three weeks ago.
The car is a S-600 with shields and special security glasses added.
The car weights 3.5 tons and the price is around 800.000 euros.
The car has a GPS alarm system, but police has been unable to locate the car in these past three weeks.
The car was Stolen at Stuttgart, while Mr. Juergen was in a 20 minute meeting.
Police believes this robbery was done by the Russian mafia and chances to find the car now are very slim. "The car is already far from Germany in some other country" police stated.
___________________________________
Well, a car with like 40 cm thick doors will be noticed sooner or later............ I suppose.

My apologies.
My apologies.
Certainly no need to apologise when you are trying to be helpful. Our local radio only spoke about this item this morning and to my knowledge you are the first person to kindly post it on this particular forum?? Unless I missed it
You have given some information our news did not disclose, namely the model. Because of the price I had assumed it must have been a Maybach. Our radio presenter also stated the car was craned onto a lorry.
Thanks again for the update,
John

News to me, I guess I must be living under a rock. Thanks for the post, I did not know about it. If anyone has more specific details I am curious to know about them too.
I think that they must have put it in a satellite-signal-shielded container on a truck. Like it was said, it was hoisted on to a turck, but the GPS alarm would have communicated, that is why I am thinking that it must have been shielded.

Also, this was not an amature job obviously.

Neither of those posts were taken from this excellent forum. By all means blames us for not looking elsewhere. I for one only frequent this one forum and that is my choice.
Thanks very much for ponting out the other forums, but a big thank you to 'Jav' for telling us here on this forum.
Regards,
John

I suppose we ought to thank 'BklynBenz' for all his research into proving that you were indeed the first person to give us the news on this particular forum
Our news was saying that the 'Russian Mafia' were the main suspects and they had 'Tracker' signal blocking equipment??
I feel however that there might be a bit of journalistic licence involved in the report. I would like to know where the chauffeur was, and will the cost of the car be deducted from his salary ?
I wonder why he was not in a Maybach?
Regards,
John

On a separate issue, I need some advice on what could be a life changing decision.
I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been having an affair.
The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up.
She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them".
I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi?
I once picked her mobile up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.
Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her.
I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my car that I noticed rust around my rear wheel arch.
Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from Halford's and try to repair it myself? If I do repair it, will it show?
Regards to everyone,
John

this proves that mb is not difficult being stolen. tele-aid, lo-jack, etc. are relied on electricity, aren't they? after quickly disconnecting power cables from batteries, those electronic alarm devices are dumb. Thief can take his time locating these electronic alarm devices then throwing them away in the garage after towing. but where is the market?

The article goes on to say that 'jamming equipment' was used on any "tele-aid, lo-jack, etc" but once it is in a metal container the game is over. (I wonder if the car was actually locked?)
What a car though for some Russian Mafia man, fully armour plated and every conceivable option known to Mercedes-Benz. If he had listened to me and used an armour plated long wheel base Maybach, the car would not have left the ground, the crane would have toppled over instead
