2005 E500 Wagon HK system

Greeting guys. I recently purchased a 05' E500 wagon. It is amazing to drive. Well unfortunately, it does not comes with the HK logic 7 sound system. I know there is bunch of aftermarket options I can pick, but I rather go with "original". So, I an wondering if I can swap the HK sound system in with my vehicle? If so, does it requires any trim or reprogram?

You have the best option will unlimited choices on a blank slate.

Unlike factory system you can select your power amp, your speakers your deck to meet your needs.

The factory HK "M.O.S.T" has pro and cons. It's all right when it works and a priceless nightmare when it quits.

You will have the option of endless open system upgrades .... don't look back.

Thanks for your info!

I do heard from different voices said that the HK system is "debateable". But I am wondering what kind of issue it will has? I am also searching for aftermarket system to fit in. Any recomendations?

Much apprecciated!

The issues with HK system is its limited power handling, durability, pricing and age.

Start with a replacement head unit then pair one or more power amplifiers with speakers to your liking.

Stay within budget and keep in mind power is limited by ALTernator power output.

Chassis computers dislike voltage spikes any big amp will create... don't go wild overboard.

Simply upgrade the OEM Grounding strap with additional 2x engine-to-chassis straps.

Where would you say are good spots to add these? Planning to do this soon but have not had a good lie down under the car to plan it out.

Go between the strut tower and the engine block.
Or side beam structures and engine block.

Multiple straps split currents in parallel paths.
That's the way Japanese cars do it.
