can’t get into my trunk!
Was fixing battery problem, so i disconnected both batteries.
At one point i may have closed the boot without thinking. now i cant get into my trunk.
the key doesn’t seem to open even though the handle is moving freely and is unlocked and i cant see any way to get in via the cabin. i reconnected the front battery and it doesn’t make a difference. Seem to not be able to open boot when the boot battery is disconnected.
kinda screwed myself. i drive a mercedes e class w211 2006 2.2cdi avantgarde any ideas?

Is there a rear seat pass through to the trunk? You need to be able to pull that emergency handle cord inside the trunk to open it ultimately

hey, yeah i’ve looked everywhere can’t seem to move the seats at all and no videos online i think u can move them back but only via a lever which is in the boot

i have the little electronic one on my drivers side door but that’s it. doesn’t open it. are you talking about the button that you flick upwards ?

Try using the key both ways and squeeze the latch as you twist the key, not easy as the key is so small, no leverage

The trunk will unlock/open without the battery/power. You might have to try turning the key and pull up on the lid to help it. It you turn it one way and pull up on the lid and it won't open..then just turn the key the other way and pull the lid up....it's either clockwise or counterclockwise! But it will open! It won't "pop" up....no power..you gotta help it!

It you turn it one way and pull up on the lid and it won't open..then just turn the key the other way and pull the lid up....it's either clockwise or counterclockwise! But it will open! It won't "pop" up....no power..you gotta help it!

it worked! actually did that by chance earlier and my friend kept pressing the trunk button on the key fob. and kept yimmying as you guys were saying. you can’t just keep it at 11 o’clock (the key angle) gotta really twist back and fourth and it bopped like you were saying . Thanks guys !

I could open my trunk with the fob but I couldn’t open it with the door handle. I worried that without a seat access, if the fob failed, I wouldn’t be able to get into the trunk. You reminded me that there is a key hole in the trunk. After opening it with that, the handle started working again. Now I just need to find a good key tumbler lube.
