ESP Inoperative after OM642 Oil Cooler repair
Dash warning says ESP Inoperative, See Owners Manual.
I tried to read the codes with my OBD2 reader, but it responded ELM Connected, ECU would not connect.
Battery is new and fully charged.
Any suggestions on where to look to resolve the issue?
Second, unlike the topic title states, your real issue is engine not turning over nor starting, correct? Was your battery disconnected? If so, and you have pre-facelift car, ESP warning goes away when you turn steering wheel lock to lock, engine running.
As for engine not turning over, check your work and see if something is not connected.

I found fuse 57 (25A) blown and after replacement the engine will turn over, but still won't start. Looking under the hood while cranking the engine I see that when I pump the pedal the Turbo Actuator linkage isn't moving. Is there a fuse that controls the Turbo Actuator and perhaps the injectors?
Pumping the pedal does not help to start the engine. If the engine is not running, it does not care about the input from the pedal.
Get a scanner and see what's wrong with your engine.
