Trunk Lockout
situation:
Dead Battery
Can't access trunk to jump
Owners Manual clearly states (page 419) jump is done via main battery in trunk under shelf right hand (passenger) side
Ok gang. Battery is dead as a doornail. Stored car over winter and started periodically ~ once a month-started fine but last interval was closer to 2 months after some extremely cold weather in Northeast U.S.
Currently will not start, fob won't even turn when inserted into ignition port; have metal key to trunk; inserted metal key into trunk lock slot; goes in completely HOWEVER WILL NOT TURN whatsoever!
Need advice on my next move/option to unlock trunk
ANY AND ALL ADVICE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
Thanks in advance gang.

if you could get power you could use the electric release?

The connection under the hood is on the driver's side in my W210.
Start working on freeing up that trunk lock to prevent this from occurring again.

Put your metal key into the key hole and make sure that it is verticle - that is the neutral position. All you need to do then is sqeeze the "handle" and that will manually open your boot/trunk.
If you turn the key to the right, that is locking the boot release handle for Valet Parking. Turning it to the left locks the boot release.
