Name is Donnie Snuggs and I just recently purchased a 2007 Mercedes Benz e350. Didn’t know much about the car but it was a daily driver from the guy I bought it from. I bought it for cheap because the old owner was told by a mechanic shop that it needed a new engine. I can get the car to start and run for about a second or 2 bucks then it dies and won’t start again until I change out the burnt fuse which is fuse 43. I volt rated the fuse after it blew got 12 volts on the power side and 1.5 on the other side which should not of had any voltage. I would greatly appreciate any insight on this issue. This is going to be my youngest daughter’s first car. Thank you all for any help I might get

Very useful tool that you will need is a MB specific scanner (Autel, iCarsoft, there a lots of info about them in here).
That fuse is for engine control unit. Might be faulty unit, or wiring issue.

i would start with a scan to see any glaring issues.

also could be the camshaft sensor:

Fuse 43 powers the ME (Motor Electronics). Disconnect ME module and see if you have a short to chassis on that line. If it is a bad ME, you'll need to source a replacement. That will require either the PROM from your ME transferred into another "re-virginized" ME or the replacement ME being programmed with your vehicle VIN. If replacement is required, you will need STAR/Xentry to "marry" the replacement ME to your vehicle. I've only done this once; not difficult but slightly stressful.

For your sake, I hope it is just a short in the power line and not a problem in the motor electronics.
