W211 Wagon - Incorrect GPS location

Hi guys,

I've been trying to solve an issue where the GPS in my Command is showing an incorrect location by a lot. So far I've replaced the FAKRA antenna in the left side of the trunk, connecting to the navigation unit, but with no success. I've seen other posts where people are cleaning/replacing the antenna splitter, but I can't find that splitter for the life of me. I've looked behind the left liner in the boot, took off the D-Pillar liner, but I just can't see the damn thing.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I don't use the Sat Nav at all, but I find this VERY annoying though.

2004 W211 E500 Wagon

Thanks!

Go here to download the WIS for your vehicle.
https://charm.li/Mercedes%20Benz/2004/
Be advised the zipped file can be large (>1.2GB) so you may need to use an aftermarket downloader (my version of Win11 would only download a max file size of 1.0GB).

In the sedan, located in trunk, left-hand side, hidden behind hinge and high up the side. Not easy to reach but can be done.
In the wagon should be a similar location. The WIS file will provide you the location of the splitter for the wagon.

Thank you, but I already looked in there based on the location given by WIS here - https://webautocats.com/epc/mercedes/1/fg/211083/64u/ - number 100

ANTENNA

and I couldn't find it.

Ideally I was looking for someone who did the job on a wagon, as it seems all the posts are for a sedan version.

Thanks anyway, I will look again!

Be aware that that "antenna splitter" shows up in some inventory systems as something obscure like "parasitic stopper." I don't know about the wagon, but on the sedan, there's a drainage issue that causes water to land directly on the component and they corrode and fail. If you have never replaced the splitter, you might want to assume it is bad.

Most recently, since I am not actively using the mobile phone antenna (because MB never shipped a bluetooth interface with the SIM Access profile in America, but don't get me started), I got a compatible active GPS antenna, tossed it under the rear tray at the window and connected directly to the GPS antenna lead from the splitter. That worked fine.

I see, but I am still unable to find that splitter and it's the only thing that I wasn't able to check if is damaged, hence showing the incorrect location. I've posted a diagram for the wagon, but cannot find that thing for the life of me. I also got a new antenna and connected it straight to the navigation unit in the trunk thinking it's the problem, but still no GPS connection even after replacement. Weird one for sure.
