I'm sorry I am not by any means a technical knowing or in any way mechanical of anything. I'm not sure what to do with the car I was tricked into buying now the gorgeous 2006 e500 4Matic 4D sedan isn't shifting out of the first gear and I have a few different things that is flashing on the dashboard like the check engine light and TCM and I think it is saying cruise control visit workshop or something like that. I got the car and I have not ever been able to get it to work to be comfortable with driving the car on the interstate. I got it from my so called "Friend" and I was just a few hundred yards away from his house and I was experiencing the car jerking back and forth and I was just not able to get it home and I was taking it back and I was able to see transmission fluid leaking and I was only told I was going to be a little low on fluid but I was fine but I was not feeling like I was immediately I returned it to the guy and I was told he had the leak fixed and I was able to get the car or he said he was going to be the one that was going to drop it off at my house. It was not leaking like he said but I was just wondering why he was not proud to get on the gas pedal and show off the power of the car and I was really alarmed but I let him drive it to me and I immediately thought it needed gas and I was going down my driveway and I was wondering why I was stuck and I was not shifting but I got it gas and a half mile I traveled shut it off and I was going to go the next day and find out what he was doing yes it's not leaking transmission fluid but it was not shifting out of gear and I drove 3 miles to him and I was there to get it fixed then I was going home and I was not feeling any power and I didn't get it back before I was stuck get home after I got about half quart of fluid in it and I was lividly pissed off. Now I have been working on the issue and I have been noticing that I have been seeing check engine light on the TCM something is flashing and it says cruise control visit workshop immediately or something like that. I am not sure what the hell is going on with it and why it's gone from shifting and slipping Andrew leaking to now it is not ever shifted to any others gear and I have been holding fluid for the most part. I have a 50 50 chance of not being able to start without getting a jump. I have been unable to get the car to show the power I experienced on the initial test ride and I was getting the car up to 30 mph or so but I was at high as hell rpm as well as I was not ever able to get it to shift. I'm being told that he was going to get it fixed easily and he was going to be doing something to the shifting silinoid or some crap and I don't want him to take the car and do anything else until I get my money back or if it is something simple I don't think he will be the one to do it. Please let me know what to do to get the car diagnosed properly and the steps and cost to get it fixed to what I have been expecting from the car. I'm not sure if I have been on the right path to getting the car fixed yet but I don't know if I can get it properly filled up with transmission fluid and it will be magically clear of the issues or is it even possible to get a diagnostic code check and it will be 100 percent revealing the issue. Please let me know what to do I have been completely ripped off and I don't know if I can get me and my wife to the methadone clinic for us to continue with the 7 months of being completely clean of narcotics but I am so damn determined to get us through this and I will be honest we are not able to get there and 2 days goes by and I know that it will be a relapse coming quickly and we have been completely honest and responsible for the past but we are so happy to be able to say we're clean and I have sacrificed to much to get us here and let us go back because I am so stupid to be a trusting person and I have no idea how to do anything to a car other than tired and oil change. I'm sorry for the confusion and long post but I don't know what to say to get it fixed and if I don't get whatever little detail explained then I won't be able to get it answered correctly.. I'm in hell with this car and I am broke definitely depressed and I don't want to be on the way to seriously going to hurt my supposed buddy who is putting his car issue and making me have it.
