W211 SCN Coding (variant coding) EGS52
As the new differential does not come from the same, but a similar engine variant, the sensor system is now triggering an error message stating "gearbox slip" and the car is entering mechanical emergency mode.
This is a consequence of the fact that my differential gear ratio has now changed from the original 3.46 to 3.67 or 3.27.
I have used the Vediamo 4 to read the code string (SCN coding) of my EGS52 control unit.
Codestring (in decimal, Vediamo use this format):

I don't have Xentry; I only have Vediamo.
I have to say that I have, for now, only a solution for this EGS52, but I’m not 100% sure if it’s correct or if it actually works. When programming things I’m not familiar with right away, I’ve learned to be careful. Because you often only get one chance.
I think there are for EGS52 four bits that need to be changed. Two of these relate to the differential gear ratio, and two to the checksum of the whole bit string.
Further changes may be necessary in the central gateway (CGW) and the instrument cluster (KI). But I haven't looked into it that deeply yet. So these are just assumptions at this point.

Perhaps someone could help me adjust the byte string for the differential gear ratio 3.67 and for 3.27, both, and output this for me?

If needed, we can add Mode 'M" as well

I’ve applied the solution and, lo and behold, there are no more errors in the memory.
I’ll keep an eye on things, though. Perhaps a change still needs to be made in the cluster and the ESP. Maybe someone has experience of whether this also needs adjusting there when changing the differential.
Perhaps others can use this as a reference if they face the same problem after changing the differential...
Parts for older vehicles are becoming increasingly hard to come by, mainly because there are so many different models (i.e. differential gear ratios).
Does anyone know if something like a differential gear ratio is stored as a variable there? Maybe someone can figure that out from Xentry/DAS?
