Anyone had problems with the door locks?

It started about a week ago. When I unlock the doors (with key, console switch or by opening the door) my passanger's side door lock goes up and down a few times and won't unlock. Has anyone experienced this?

Hmm, I sense a bug. I had this happening in my old Lexus, I believe.

Wouldn't these cars be absolutely amazing if MB could design electronics worth a damn?

Yes, I have just experienced this the past two days when the outside temperatures were in the teens. I'm hoping all with be fine when the temps warm up!

MADMAN.... That would be a good coincidence but it was happening yesterday also and here in NY it was nice 33 degree day.

I hope I am not going through my "first" bug.

You know, I would love to post how to resolve it, but never got around to fixing it because it was near the end of the lease anyway. Sorry. Hope that bug gets cleared out.

My driver's door has the problem. . .

I posted a few things on this thread.

https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/91318-nav-power-lock-problem.html

The dealer has ordered the part. They speculate that the reason it is on back order is because they are either updating the part (so it is fixed) or because a lot are having the problem.

Thanks Steve. I tried doing a search in the forum before posting and this post didn't come up. My bad. Thanks for the info. I will call the dealer tomorrow and schedule an appointment. I'll report what they say.

Update: Now that it has warmed up around here AND I've driven my car the first time since the locks started acting up, they are working fine now.

So I still think the onset of my locking issues was temperature-related.

You are 100% correct. Every time I park my car outside the lock acts up. When I leave it in the garage it is fine. Don't be foled; you still should get it fixed. Take that as an early warning to the fact that the lock will fail in the future. When it is not that cold (like around 20 to 30 degrees F) the lock just bounces, but still can unlock the door. When it really gets cold (like -10 to 15 degrees F) the lock can not unlock the door at all! It will only start to get worse and it will start to fail at normal outside temperatures. My part is still on backorder (as of today).

Yup, I agree that it is a sign of future trouble, so this symptom will indeed be on my list for my next service appointment
