Chrysler 300C with 10K mark-up ??
Holly cow
I stopped by a Chrysler near my house to check out the new 300 with Hemi, and was shocked to see a 10K mark up price.
While Mercedes and BMW now sell for substantially bellow MSRP (at least with the W211 and E60), Inifnity and Lexus going for MSRP (M35/45 and new GS line), while the once dog now going for 5-10K above MSRP.
Btw, I'm told to expect 20-25K mark-up for the SRT8, that'll put it only 15K less than the E55, not much for a value there.
I don't know what's the hype from the media about in regard to the improvement of the interior (quality/look) of the 300. It looks typically cheap and ugly that usually seen in rental cars.
The outside look is strong though, especially wit hthe mesh grill & 19" wheels.

The W211 sells for less than MSRP because it's been out for a few years and has a bad rep for reliability in some circles. The BMW E60 sells for less than MSRP because of the muddled exterior and cheap-looking interior. I'm surprised to hear that a dealer is still expecting to get way over MSRP for a 300C, even in the hyperventilating LA car market. Still, they wouldn't ask it if they didn't think that somebody would that much for their Kartoon Kar. In our economic system, the correct price for any product is what somebody is willing to pay for it.

The dealer I went to were asking at MSRP. At MSRP, I think it's a great bargain especially the SRT-8 with 425HP at under $40,000. Aren't some parts and design come directly from the W211 (ie. Suspension)?

Supply will catch up with demand...
IF any dealers are actually fetching that kind of markup, it won't be for long or from too many clients.
The car is nothing special, just a big V8 stuffed into the nose of a standard production car.
Plus, there are substitute goods available, like the Caddilac CTS-V and upcoming STS will be getting 440 HP Northstar. Not to mention, if they actually can get 10K-25K over MSRP, that is in a whole new category, like ZO6 territory in term of price.
Only fools, and extremely wealthy fools, would spend that on a Mopar and not feel any regret down the road.

something fast
it depends on the car, for a dodge which has dealerships on every corner no way but for cars that are truly hard to come by such as the ferrari f 430 then I say you have to pay to play. Some dealers aren't even taking deposits, their entire allocation has been sold out. You have to buy a used car to even get on the list. A ferrari is the only car that I could see paying over sticker for, every other car on the market that is going for over sticker can be had for less with a little elbow grease!

Chryslter over invoice...I think not
Here in South Florida, it is just the opposite. There are plenty of 300C to buy, and no one is paying anything like $10,000 over for one.
When i bought my E320 six months ago, the dealer was down to three (I bought a demo below invoice/holdback/etc), but they still had some E500s sitting around. The non-demo cars were fetching invoice no problem....demand is still high.

All of the 300C are built in Canada in Brampton (same with the other Chrysler wagon - I can't remember the name of it).
There are so many here it is weird. I really like how they look although I think they will go the way of the PT Cruiser. I don't think they could give one of those away right now..
