My dealer is clueless but I am anxious to order a new E550

 

Wait couple months I guess.

 

I signed my order in mid January, I'd assume US orders can be placed pretty soon as the start of sales should follow only a few months later?

 

Ordering banks open Monday.

 

My dealership will start to sell them in July.

 

Careful with big ticket purchases given Latham's layoff push!

Very probably, MB USA is in Montvale and BMW NA is in Woodcliff Lake, so lots of corporate cars running around on manufacturers' tags.

I seriously though I was getting ready to pass a Honda or Acura....when I got in front the Matte grille caught my eye and I did a triple take. Actually really liked the matte wheels and grille on the silver...

The lady driving wanted nothing to do with me and locked her brakes up when I started taking pictures

One advantage to living near one of the few beaches left that we can still drive cars on- most of the cars in the US are sent down here for testing. Note the "Manufacturer Vehicle" sticker on the rear decklid.

 

Great pictures ! And congrats on managing to keep a steady hand. I'm sure I would be all over the place trying to take pictures, and long glances, at that car.

 

It was a wide open section of texas highway, the car practically drove itself .

I did feel a little ridiculous as no one around me seemed to care or really even noticed the car...heh.

 

Well, it really depends on the package and wheels, so that plain white one with those wheels would not garner many looks, which was probably the intent.

 

When will the coupe be arriving at dealers?

 

For Canada, the new W212 coupe is expected to arrive this coming June ahead of the sedan.

 

The 207 appears at (Euro) EPC now. It had been mentioned before but EPC shows that the coupe is based on the 204, even more than the CLK used to be based on the C-class. It doesn't sound that strange then if it did appear before the W212. But in Europe the W212 will be in showrooms next weekend, and the coupe should follow within three months or so.

 

W212 seen in showrooms here,some orders can take place too, but real available is still unknown.

 

What do you mean by real availability? Several drivers are already driving their own W212 in Europe, I bet including Geneva and Brussels.

It is amazing though that Sindelfingen is closed for two weeks from today.

 

Anyone know if 4matic is available in the U.S. order bank yet? I was planning to get a C Class for my winter beater but now I'm leaning towards the W212 4matic instead.

 

In most European market looks like W212 mass release will be during this summer.

 

According to my dealer E350 4matics will be arriving late fall/early winter just in time for the bad weather. E550 4matics will be available also but they have to special order them on a customer by customer basis, those will not be stocked on the lots like the 350 4matics.

 

What, most European countries had the first cars sold at the end of March. RHD countries come a bit later.

Never said first car sold at the end of March.As I wrote,mass release in the markets will be during this summer.Not the production.
That's why because or April,many dealer take order for July delivery.So you must ask your dealer for details,I don't know if this happened for all countries.

EDIT :As I travel a lot for business,this period I can also see W212 in the streets in mainland Germany,Suisse,Belgium,Netherlands,North Italy.These cars probably are first release.Also in Germany orders were available from 12 January 2009.

 

Well, just about any European country accepted orders from early January (mainly excluding RHD countries). I've had the car for a few days now and it isn't from any special order, just normal "mass release" in my opinion.
