E-Class diesel is said to be coming out in the Spring next year. Most likely it will be the same engine as is currently offered but with urea-injection Blue-tec. Therefore, it should be 50 state like the trucks.

Unfortunately no. The engine in the W212s are carry overs from the W211s,

The E420CDI would have been there from the W211 but it should not be coming even in Europe. A higher power V6 likely later on.

The 2010 E class sales brochure I pickup at the dealer yesterday lists the CDI and options, along with the E350 and E550 gas burners.

Not sure if its this article but I read it somewhere this engine in particular was developed mainly for North America. And it will be available for the GLK as well. I will be surprised if they don't put it in the C as well.

It's the same engine with probably a different tuneup and the new diesels will be called E350 Bluetec. Same 3.0 l displacement.

Sweet! Hope they actually release it...a 4-cyl diesel with better mpg and near-identical power numbers to our '05 cdi. The w212 looks GREAT in those pictures...still not a huge fan of the taillights, but the body shape if definitely growing on me.

The Euro 250CDI has exactly the same numbers as the I6 320CDI had, 204 HP and 500 Nm torque (1600 to 1800 rpm). But the torque curve is not exactly as flat. The efficiency figures are excellent.

Bluetec figures must be a bit compromised from the 250 CDI.
