After much deliberation we finally got an e63 on christmas eve. I just wanted to say thank you for those who responded to my questions about the current market on leases and such. Hope you enjoy the pictures, and merry christmas.

Except for those tail lights. Arghh! What was MB thinking?!? That's the only fail on the new E63 and it's so frustrating to me. Oh well.

From the exifer data you can at least see that the lens focal length at shooting was 11mm, about 15mm equivalent in film camera (full frame) terms. I would guess some of the wide angle zooms Nikon makes (I'm not familiar with any of the Nikon products really).

thanks for all the kind words guys, the car is so ridiculously good that driving it makes me feel like I am in another dimension entirely! to answer your questions, the pictures were shot mostly with a simga 10-20mm DX lens on a nikon D300 (which I just listed on ebay because I am moving to a full frame dSLR) and the color is palladium silver.

thanks, I would be glad to: the car is in a word, a compromise so good that it seems like no compromise at all. the last car that I felt this way about was the e39 m5: it was just so much fun to drive that you forgot there were 2 more doors out back and a big trunk to haul stuff around in. I drove the e63 back to back with an s63 and a carrera s with PDK. by far, the e63 was the most fun with the best engine/transmission combination. there is so much torque, the sound is unbelievable (how did this thing ever pass DOT regs for exhaust dB's??), and the transmission's up and downshifts are magnificent in sport + mode. i think that while i have always enjoyed the 55 and 63 motors, the new transmission is what sets this most recent e63 in another league altogether and compelled me to take the plunge. If I could choose just one car to have, this would be it. It is just so good, I'll let you know as I find things that bother me but its still early in the honeymoon phase.
