Keep us posted on the 2011 mirror replacement, whether it works or not. Mine works but the range is for crap, while my previous S class worked from the street.

Aside from Homelink, anyone notice that since you programmed this MB, 2010 W212 to Bluetooth Phone, that now the other two cars, BMW and MB, wont synch without trying several times. I used to get into my MB or BMW and it would connect automatically per the settings I established. I did the same on the W212 but now seems the W212 has messed them all up.

i suggest you take it to the dealer as it looks like a problem with the car and not solar effect. and reprogramming can be trick. so take help of a professional.

Quick update on this thread.

They wouldn't replace my home link, stating it costs $1500 for the piece. So they reprogrammed / recoded it because that's what MB HQ tells them to do. They said unless they can reproduce it, it's going to be hard to get it approved to replace. I sure hope it works!

Just got back from the dealer. They too re-coded the homelink mirror per LI document number: 68.05P049514.

I'll let you know how long they last ...

Mine did that at least twice. Now it is still holding up over 7-8 months, even after car was parked (without arming the alarm) for a month during our vacation. The battery didn't drain either after a month (started right away).

On another thread an owner of a 2011 E550 says he has a compass in his mirror. Is this Canada specific? I expect my 2011 by next Wednesday and I will confirm but I would be surprised if the compass is gone. My understanding was that the mirror changes were to correct errors for rolling codes.
I have a US Spec 2011 E350 Bluetec and have the compas in the mirror. Have not seen one without this.

2010 E350 here. Pissed me off that anytime I touched the rear-view mirror to adjust it, the directional compass would go haywire. Took it to the dealer to "fix" under warranty. They kept it for 2 days saying they had to "paint" the new antenna on the roof. OK. Fine. They did, in fact wash the car after the replacement of whatever it was they replaced. But the compass in the mirror worked for 2 weeks. Now, every time I touch it, I end up going 45 degrees off from where I'm actually headed. Let me explain. As I'm backing out of my garage, headed due East, compass tells me I'm headed Northwest. I leave it alone. Soon, as I'm headed South, the compass says I'm headed Southwest. I've entered addresses in the navigation system and it tells me no such address exists. And MB wants over $250 to update the maps in NAV. **** YOU. My phone is 10 times better with navigation than anything MB can come up with.

Thanks B27. I did replace Aux. Battery a couple of months ago per warning in dash. No change in compass behavior. I've not replaced the primary battery as it seems to be functioning fine. However, after this coming summer in Phoenix, I'll likely need to do that. Hopefully that will fix the issue! Stay tuned.
