2010 MB E550 coupe
E550C Steering Wheel

Is the standard steering wheel in the E550 coupe the one with the flat on the bottom?

No. Flat bottom "AMG" steering wheel is a part of optional appearance package only. As a side note, MB Manhattan parts quoted me $3,400 for this steering wheel - part number: A 207 460 12 03 (plus a 4 digit color code). Insane.

Thanks, but that is still too "rich". Ebay has a couple for $600 and under from Europe. I got one of those. Looks genuine with part number stamped on it. Just FYI.

I wanted to change my steering wheel to the wood steering wheel and I asked my sales guy at MB Manhattan for a price, he told me 2500 for the wheel. I couldn't believe it so I called the parts dept at the same dealer and the parts guy quoted me 1300 for the same exact same wheel. WTF!!

My friend just bought his CLS550 the same day I bought my new E at Manhattan MB, the dealer never paid off the return lease on his previous car and he got a late payment mark on his credit because of those idiots.

Its starting to seem like MB of Manhattan is full of crap. I probably won't take my car there for service when it needs it.

I could tell you stories about how bad MB of Manhattan is. While I lived in the city I got a car from them and only took it to service there once. I made a point to avoid them. My current MB dealer is awesome and it's only 30 minutes away from the city (without traffic that is). PM me if you are interested in checking them out.

Do you have a 3-spoke or a 4-spoke steering wheel and did you buy a wood steering wheel by now?

I have the 4 spoke wheel now. I didnt buy the wood wheel yet. I want to buy it since I'm used to having one in all my previous benz's and I like to wood look and feel.

I'm having a hard time with the 1300.00 price tag for the wheel. Havent decided if I'm going to do it yet. I'm going to wait a little while and see if it comes down in price or I can get a hook up somehow. My sales guy is away so when he gets back I'm going to hit him up for his employee discount and see how much that can save me.

4-spoke? Well...that won't work then. I was asking because my 3-spoke wood steering wheel is for sale at $750 picked up in NYC. I have it on ebay for $900 shipped. Not that it matters for you, since going from 4 to 3 spoke wheel will require buying an airbag too. Of course IMHO 3-spoke wheel looks a lot sportier than 4-spoke one.

If I had the 3 spoke wheel I wouldve bought it from you. I'm in NYC so I couldve picked it up. I'm looking for a similar deal and maybe I can get another dealer to give me a better price if my sales guy doesnt work it out for me.

And I wont be using MB of Manhattan for anything.

Thanks.
