Are cooled seats an option in 2010 E350?

Hi,
I'm thinking about getting the 2011 E350 Bluetec sedan and was wondering if it was an option in the E350 sedan. I see it listed for the E550 but not the E350 and thought I'd check. Thanks.

Dave

Climate Comfort seats only work with real leather (not MBTex/ARTICO). In Canada, you could do a special order for the Climate Comfort seats in conjunction with real leather (2xx), the special order fee would be $750. Not sure about MBUSA.

"cooled" seats are not an option on the E550.

As stated in the brochure and on the web site, they are "active ventilated", which means you get just a fan moving air, not AC on your backside. I have this in my S55 and it is fairly effective at making me more comfortable.

OR!!!

"cooled" seats are an option on the E550, as shown in the "Compare Vehicles" utility.

It depends on which part of the MBUSA web site is accurate, they are called both.

Either way, as far as I can tell this option is not available on the e350. From the E-Class brochure listing items in E350 Premium Package 1:

• Heated front seats (Heated and Active Ventilated on E 550)

Cooled front seats is one thing E350 should have had or at least as an option! In the car without air conditioned seats caused my back to sweat on hot days, and road trips of over 1 hour left me in need of a change of clothes.
Almost all it's competitors have it and it's STANDARD feature in luxury models such as Infiniti M37 or GS350, it's closest competitors. I didn't get the logic...

Yeah. The 2011 E350 bluetec is finally in the computer for the dealers to start ordering and it definitely is not an option. Makes no sense why it's on the E350 coupe, E550 sedan and not the E350 sedan.

As I mentioned, the climate comfort seats only work with real leather. E-Coupe and E550 Sedan have leather standard, thus the upgrade is feasible from a cost perspective. On an E350 Sedan, the upgrade would be $1,590 for leather + ~$1,000 for the climate comfort option.

I see. I still think it should be an option. If someone is buying a $60,000 car then I think there are people willing to spend the extra money for this option if they live in a warm climate. Oh well, I'm still looking forward to getting the E350 bluetec.

You could request a factory special order. It is 100% possible if you're in Canada, not sure about USA's willingness to do so.

Thanks. I spoke with the sales guy here in Texas and he said he spoke with some regional Mercedes person who said this wasn't possible. I'll ask again though.

There is no technical restriction preventing it. Hopefully they allow it (especially in Texas!)
