Display light stays on way after turning engine off.
I noticed the other day that the center display was on inside the car.
I just happen to go into the garage to get something and walked by my car and saw the center display light on from the outside. It showed the mileage display, no other lights were on.
Now this was at least 10-15 mins after the car was turned off.
Is there something that causes the light to come on? Maybe a sensor that I walked by? I don't have keyless go by the way.

Remote?
Mine doesn't do that, but if I open the door it comes on.
Wonder if you might be accidentally hitting the remote? I know I have done it with mine and found the trunk open-or setting the alarm.

I left my keys inside the house about 15-20 feet away so there is no chance that I touched any of the buttons.
I did not touch the car in anyway or opened the doors so this has me puzzled at the moment.

I have noticed that this happens quite often, and whenever the airmatic suspension is being automatically filled-up with air. The lights come on every hour or so after parking. In my case, if the car stays parked for 3 days of more, the rear suspension stops being filled-with-air and the rear suspension both sides just collapses - until I unlock the car or open a door - when the air gets filled in a couple of seconds.

Same thing here. What gives. I opened and closed the doors and trunk. Also restarted the car.
It did go off but I don't know what made it go off

I don't have Smartkey and this was happening. It hasn't happened since MB dealer serviced it under the post below.

Are you saying that you had the same light problem on your car before your battery drained?

Yes that is correct.
Service manager said they did a computer program update along with other tests and spoke to the MB tech line.
I mentioned this forum and how other owners were experiencing the display light staying on. They didn't have other customers coming in for it.
Note: At the time of the battery drain and a jump start, the Day Time running lights did not come on the lower outside lights where the fog lights are.( I don't have the "hockey sticks". The headlights were on instead as the daytime running lights.
The service manager told me (when I picked up the car) that when he saw me pull in for service initially that morning that he knew something in the programing was off after seeing how the headlights were functioning.
No one knows if it was related to the battery drain.
I may have been the only one on the forum who happened to have their car sitting for 2 weeks and have the display light issue.

For anyone experiencing this I would suggest bringing the vehicle in. In addition to update (if applicable) request tech check for excessive rest current https://mbworld.org/forums/4144234-post6.html

UPDATE:
I took my car in to the dealer for something else last week and mentioned this event. Service was unable to replicate it, so they say.
Took car home and within a few minutes was able to replicate the random lights coming on.
So I made a video and sent them a link.

As you will see, the light comes on without any reason.

MB dealer did the following on my visit. I wonder if the blower does come on with the car off and that activates the display light.
Deactivated Afterblow Feature
Found this on another car sight:
Now a days most of the vehicles are fitted with an after blow function within the HVAC control module software. This after blow feature when is turned on, makes the HVAC blower fan to dry the evaporator after the vehicle is shut down
See link above for Dead battery issue

This cannot be about the evaporator drying feature, it activates for 30 minutes and if I remember right, only after an hour after ignition has been switched off (and only if AC has been on, which should be likely at 80F ).
I have no idea what could fire up the cluster like this, I hope the forum can help or the dealer finds some fault codes that lead them to the correct track (you did not mention any fault codes, I guess the workshop did run a test).
The video is always useful proof when you have to deal with ghosts.
