Real Xeon headlights and subwoofer sucks

Hi all, just bought an E350 a few days ago. Upgraded from a C300.
I didn't get the P2 package because I didn't need all that mumbo jumbo. However, I did want Xeon lights. I just didn't need the moving adaptive xeon lights. I am looking for an upgrade kit for true xeon lighting. My C300 had them. Can't beleive like most of you for a car over 56k it wasn't standard.
Also the subwoofer sucks. It has hardly any kick. My c300 had way more and the 2009 c300 loaner I just used was good too. What gives. Anyone upgrade the amp or woofer ?

2010 E63 AMG
sub is a piece of sh*t in my E63.
I am looking into options to either change or upgrade mine sub as well. Reus is somewhat expensive I guess, although I didn't research that option. Maybe there is a faster easier solution.
My C300 premium sound was way better than this.
At low volume E63 sound is the worst. the only way to listen to bass is to turn it up all the way which is not always possible when you have people in the car. I also noticed that disabling Logic7 improves the bass.
I thought that having, advertised, 610 watt of sound from E class would be an improvement over 450 watt C class, unfortunately.

I must say that my subwoofer kicks really good... It seems like the wagon has a different sub than the sedan. It's smaller than the sedan's but it's in a enclosed box in the trunk. The sedan version is 320mm x 200mm and the wagon's is 200mm.

I don't know if there is a difference in sound since I've never heard the sedan system.

Here is more info:

sub

checked out the diagram of speakers from the link you sent. The sub looks tiny and weak. Definetly will be replacing. Hope I don't have to do the amp as well. I'm not looking to boom boom down the road but would like to hear the damn thing kick decently.

I really liked GS350 (Lexus), very comfortable ride, more power, all electronics, Xenon, leather is standard. I could choose any color combinations, dealer had over 20 cars in lot. Unfortunately low resale value, so lease was more expensive for $49K Lexus than for $59K Mercedes, absurd. So I ended by taking E350.
So if you just pay for a car and want max options for low proce, then Lexus will be a win.

Very FAST!
Not a huge fan of the deep bass or even ear thumbing music, however, merely 1 week after taking delivery of a 2010 E350 coupe P2, the amp blew. I still have the smell of "burnt" wiring in the trunk. MB did replace it, however for a new car of this type, it didn't sit well on my stomach.

guess it depends on the music one likes? but yeah, I'd raise some hell over a blown sub, I'm a musician and like my music, don't usually go nuts with audio equipment, from what I heard the stuff sounded fine........just my feelings though, I know some people go nuts with car stereo stuff, hehe..........
hope it works out for everyone

I find the HK prem sound to be excellent. 610 Watts of power and 14 speakers is the best I have ever had in a car and certainly puts the Bose system in my 911 to shame. I'm sure there is better stuff out there but for the money it's hard to beat.

C300 Sport/Palladium Silver on Black/P2
There are MTEC kits on ebay. I like them as they give you basically everything you need. They even give you a different "clip," so the HID bulb will lock into place right.

The E has projectors, so a HID retrofit would likely work decent.

There is a guy on ebay MTECPOWER . That is where I bought mine. He only has listings for W211, but I imagine that would work fine for the W212 but you could ask him first.

I agree with you 100 percent!! I was looking at two dealers right now for a E350 sedan. Not a *single* car they had about 18 each, had xenon package. Just wild to me. The W212 car is amazing, they should at least have some on the lot with xenon.

I do have the Harman Kardon set-up and that is the amp that blew. So, I'd have to say, I hope the amp was not made y HK, rather just the speakers. If not, then I'm not impressed.

I am facing the situation you mentioned here. I wanna replace my C300. GS350 and E350 are both under my consideration. But the Lexus recall actually affect my choice now. As you have considered GS350, can you provide me some infomation? Thanks.

I have driven Lexus GS since 2001. I am just trading in a 2008 GS350 AWD for a 2010 E350 4matic with P2 (hope to pick it up tomorrow). The GS is a nice reliable car but when they went to the third generation body style they made significant changes in the ride of the car. Some people might like the tighter, sportier ride but for me I like the quiet smooth ride of my 2001. Also, this car was subject to creaks and rattles which got considerably worse in the cold weather. It really hit home when I had a loaner Lexus ES 350 while my GS was being service last month and the much cheaper car was noticably quieter and smoother driving.

As to the value, I'm afraid that the GS350 isn't doing all that well. Book value on my car was $34k but they are retailing them for $32K so I feel like I left $2k sitting on the table. Mine was loaded with everything, pristine, and had 18000 miles but they wouldn't budge.

On a positive note, it's definately a buyers market for the GS and there were a lot of things I really liked about it. Great power, plenty of toys, 28 mpg highway, very reliable.

I hope this was helpful to you and good luck with your decision.
