Blacked out E pics?

I'm heading to the dealer to check out the E350 they had delivered for me, and hopefully finish the deal and get this car (black on black w/ black ash wood, P2 package, sports package, & panoramic)

I usually just lurk this board, but figured i'd ask to see if you guys had any blacked out E pics? specifically the grill, windows, etc. I'll probably keep the headlights and rear lights untouched.

thanks in advance!!!

before you do anything with your window trim, take those chrome pieces on your doors.
they are just taped on so should be very easy.

Yeah those chrome strips on the side look awkward...was going to wrap them as well...but if theyare just taped, I'll ask the shop to just pull them off. Widh I went with a bigger wheel...but was told 19"s (mine are 18) would be the largest I could go with the same stock tire size. Is that true? Didn't want to mess with the drive/roll...

Thanks

If the E coupe fits 20's I think the sedan could also. Don't know why you would want to keep stock tire size if you getting bigger wheels. Why not go with bigger tires also?

I was informed (mis-informed?) that the stock size tires would be the best for handling/drive and anything bigger that 19"s would require an upgrade to suspension. If I could get 20"s with a diff tire size and similar handling/drive I
will upgrade.

Wider tires would improve handling, no? Yo have to keep in mind going with bigger wheels will also give you less rubber on the road so the drive will not be exactly the same. It is not neccessary to change out your whole suspension, all you're doing is changing the wheels. Besides, the suspension is brand new. My car came with 225 front and 245 rear. I upgraded to 235 front and 265 rear when I threw on my 19's.

thats killer man: I'm going TOMORROW to make my black on black, with black ash order!!!!
I was also planning on either trying to get the insignia in black, and some kind of black grill instead of chrome.......or steel or whatever they are. I'd like the rear lettering to be black too. E550 4matic would look good in black. That way you'd have to be be right behind me to identify the car.....unless you're a fan....

I would never own a black car, but I saw a W212 all blacked out on the freeway recently, it looked SO FRIGGIN HOT. Like a diamond in the rough, I was in my Chevy and all I could think was "Man those guys are lucky, I want that car....", it kind of made my day as I knew I have that baby in my own garage.

It had a spoiler, a roof spoiler (not too into that, but it worked on this car, more or less), blacked out wheels, black tint, blacked out rear lights, NON Xenons with the yellow double fogs (which looked AWESOME on this setup btw, that warm yellow light complimented the whole package), and black eye-lids on the headlights. I'm sure it had some other stuff, and wasn't paying attention to whether he left all the chrome trim alone (I'm sure the grille was blacked out for one).

All in all, it was incredibly eye catching and sinister-mean.

Black on Black

Yeah - black on black, in my opinion, there is NOTHING that comes close to it. Unfortunately, sometimes practicality prevails and as much as I miss having that over the top look of black paint so deep you could dive into it look, I definitely will not miss the countless hours it takes to keep that black paint looking so deep and rich.

do you guys know of any shops in SoCal (LA area) that will black out the grill, side markers?

I've been looking but no one wants to touch OEM parts (at least no good MB places) - they're not "supposed" to.

I'm looking to get black 20''s (no lip), blacked out grill, black mb symbols, and maybe red thin trim on the end of the wheels b/c i don't think i'm blacking out the rear lights.

opinions?

first step, black out grill and side markers

What's the difference between "murdered out" vs. "blacked out"?

Murdered E350 W212

I've been trying to find "murdered out" benz's all over the internet and have been unsuccessful. So, I just went to town on mine. I used plasti-dip because of the user-friendliness of it and I have commitment issues. This is a list of what I did:
-rims
-chrome window trim
-chrome side bottom trim
-all the chrome badges in the rear
-chrome trunk piece
-grill
-all the chrome around the fog lights and so forth
-and last, but not least: the hood ornament

So, bottom line there's literally not a piece of chrome on it (well, every piece of chrome is plasti-dipped).

I'm posting a basic pic I have. I have a lot more detailed ones if you want to see, just let me know! Also, let me know what you think!

Any closer pics of the trim around the windows? And the trunk badges?

I have a 2011 e550 sport in iridium silver, I want to tint the windows, but I think it would look better with blacked out window trim if I were to do that.

Thanks in advance,

George

btw, nice looking ride - especially since you got such a good deal on it. That would sell in no time on a lot.

Thanks!

I haven't done all that much with it yet. I just added the clear sidemarkers with the led's.

I own the car right so I'm going to drive it / play with it for a while and when the time comes I'll retail out of it for what I have in it.

I got the flat hood badge and mount off a w204 as well but I haven't installed it yet. I think the next step is window tint.

I've put about 1000 miles on the car so far and all good.

Take care,

George

mshesse, what is your thoughts of plasti dip and how long have you had it on your car? I want to do my badging all in plasti dip because I like you have commitment issues but don't want it to peel off after six months.

Hey George, I'm attaching a few pictures of closer images of the things you've requested to see. I will be the first to admit that I'm a crappy picture-taker so if they suck that bad or if you want ones at different angles just let me know.
