Hid light upgrade non P2 package purchasers

wanted to share this with the board members. I was ticked off that the P1 package came with crapy halogen light bulbs. I had Xenon on both my past C-Classes before and can't live with out bright lights. Any way, I'm in Orange county and did my research and talked to a lot of shops. These guys installed them and they look and work fantastic. No error codes and they are just as bright if not a bit brighter than oem lights on the P2. Very happy and it was under $100 to do. So worth the money. I'm going to have them do my fogs next and then my wifes and friends cars.

I will take some pics and post them in the next few days. No if I can just get Keyless go installed cheap.

Wow...that is great news. Being from "the other coast" can you pass on any details about what they used. It's a long drive to Huntington Beach.

are they OEM housing or just xenons (w/ ballast etc) screwed into the halogen setup?

Ive always thought it dangerous to do that because there is a difference in reflectors and headlight aiming used for Xenon vs halogen...but perhaps not so in this car.

hey evanswan, my only question is when you got the HID installed in your 2010 E350, did required error code eliminators?

I would just like to know what is required, therefore i order everything needed the first time around. Also did you install HID in the fogs yet?

Lastly, what color bulb did you go with? (example 4500k, 5000k, 8000K)

I am a little naive when it comes to HID / Xenon, but this sounds to good (and to cheap) to be true. If you have experience here...please advise.

hey BPhillyBenz,

It does sound to good to be true, But i put HIDs on my wife Jeep rand Cherokee and let me tell you, there insane. It makes a world of difference. The only thing is with the 2010 w212 E350, i heard that you might need error eliminators, so i want to confirm if this is true. This might make installation not as plug and play as my wifes jeep.

Also BPhillyBenz, what grill did you put on your E350?

Most likely they are not bi xenons and do not have the leveling feature and of course not the active feature. You got the low end and thats what you paid for. No leveling makes them illegal in many areas of the country.

Yep, I really regret not going P2. I am just trying to make the best of any type of after market solutions. Suggestions?

It will cost you but perhaps its possible for your dealer to install the factory set up. This is the reason I spec and order all of my cars. I get exactly what I want and its the correct stuff.
