Noises when parked

Hi,
Just wondering if it is normal to hear noises from car - way, way after its been parked and sitting for some time. What I am hearing is faint drilling noise. Also, somehow, the car stays hot inside for longer than I anticipated, when parked - this is inside a garage. I dont have any thing that stays on. Just curious...

I hate to be the first responder, but.....

once had a honda that would run it's fan after my car was off.....way, way off......
I thought it was just trying to cool itself some more....
also sometimes on my volvo after it's been parked and locked for a while, I'll hear an
audible 'clack' or something weird like that.......
but then again, having had many 'poor' cars, I have become hypersensitive to noises , sounds, creaks, rattles etc......
so maybe you're just paying extra close attention--I know I will be......
good luck and have fun too

I almost posted the same exact thing.
The only thing I can think of is my air suspension and metals flexing under car.

Yes the sounds are normal. I hear them all the time, I heard them in my W211 as well. Its the Airmatic... as to what its doing... I have no idea. I have noticed that the car stay hot a longer than expected too but I never thought much of it.

I hear the similar noise when I rest on the bed. Things settle down gradually, cars are not exception. That's one thing. Second thing is the electronics inside the cars. I don't have airmatic.

Cars (specially MB) electronics do take longer to retire after engine is shut off. These cars may be awake even after we go to sleep such as the alarm and GPS transmitters.

Yes, in deed. It's a lot of fun. Some of my friends still don't understand how it's letting me turn with two wheels in the front and one in the back. Unlike other three wheelers, Piaggio MP3 unlocks the front two wheels as soon as throttle is activated, so it can lean 40 degrees to the right or left, yet providing three wheel traction like an inclined tripod. The front wheels manual locking (never auto locks) is only allowed when throttle is closed AND speed is less than 5 mph. So my feet never touch the road until I reach the destination regardless of the number of stop lights (knock on wood).

Some E-Classes as an option have a solar panel on leading edge of sunroof to run blower fan to regulate incar temps. another option to look at would be the coolant circulation pump, poss malfunction, I've seen it before. Good luck!

I haven't noticed any unusual heat in my car after closing & parking overnight (although my garage gets really hot).

Does it happen every time the vehicle is shut off?, if so pop the hood and see if you can isolate the noise under hood.
