The 550 powerplant and the responsive handling are plenty to keep me excited when I want to be. The more I use the convenience features the more I feel pampered (I just noticed the central LCD monitor can switch the speedometer dial display between MPH and KPH for Canadian touring, and I like the attention to detail where the speedo digits dim below the target cruising speed.) We'll see if I'm still in the same mood when the warranty wears off, but right now, no regrets.

Perhaps I do have one regret, I'm getting ready to store it for the winter [link].

Ahhh....just read your storing thread. I hope you changed the oil before storing too. I have torn down enought engines(I own a high-end garage business) to know that the oil is more of a concern than putting sta-bil in the gas tank(don't get me wrong this helps). There are a lot of customers who store their high end cars, especially racing cars which are used for the summer months and neglect to change their oil. The acid(TAN) and condensation build-up with high insolubles and depleted ZDDP(Zinc Dithiophosphate for wear protection) leads to corrosion in the oil pan as well as camshafts and lobes that lead to rods snapping in half. Moral of the story, take care of the oil and the oil will take care of you. This is really important nowadays since the depleted amount of ZDDP in modern oils to meet EPA requirements for the catalytic converters from fouling.

Thanks for the tip - The oil was changed in July and has 4000 miles on it. Do you think it still needs changing?
Please post in the linked thread so we don't get too far OT and other interested members can see your answer.

Ah, yeah I obviously didn't think you meant the full AMG Model.

Just to be clear, the "AMG Sport" W212 is the only Sport model of it you can get, it has the aggressive front bumper, trapezoidal exhaust tips, and 18" wheels (they could be one of 3 available wheels, but as long as they're 18"'ers, it's an AMG Package). The Luxury models come with smaller wheels, a smaller front air dam, etc.

But yeah, that's cool if you see more Luxury models running around, and the AMG Package is rarer sight. That's the way it should be! Makes for better sight-seeing of the car on the road, more proper diversity, and allows the AMG Pack to retain the visual impact it's supposed to have.

Out here, they just ***** out the (Free) AMG Sport Package on the W212. Although, I'm finally seeing more Luxury models running around, so hopefully the equilibrium will balance out rightly.

See almost no Luxury versions in this area of Upstate SC and Western NC. In fact, I tried 6 different dealers in GA, SC and NC trying to locate a Luxury version when I was looking. Finally had to order the Luxury version I got.
I much prefer the smaller wheels, more comfortable ride in the Luxury as well as the wood/leather steering wheel and the more traditional/conservative front end. But that's me. Also makes my car much more unique.

I do miss the wood wheel and the sport version has the black dash which I'm not crazy about - I prefer the dark taupe (?) dash of the luxury model. The ride is surprisingly similar though.
