Just ordered my first MB! E550!
Always been an Audi guy. Had an S4 on order but really got frustrated with the lack of technology in the S4. Drove the E350 and liked it.....drove the E550 and LOVED it! Really excited. Capri Blue with natural leather AMG Sport package (LOVE those wheels and steering wheel) and P2. Thought about the night thing for deer but passed. Am I missing any "must have" options??? Getting a coupe star grill installed at dealer.

It is a little more than the ebay models but looks the closest to the coupe grill which I like the most.

2011 Mercedes E550 4M, 2003 BMW X5 4.4i
Same situation here!!! Ordered our first Mercedes, which is also an E550 4Matic in late August. Used to be a BMW guy but this new E is stunning. Dealer said it should arrive hopefully at the end of November.

My View of the 2011 E550
I have had my E550 for two months. Love the car, preformance is Excellant, on par with a C5 Corvette. Best mileage to date was 26.7.
One item of dissatification is the Nav. system. If you deviate from course it keeps trying to send you back to the old route and not recalcuate a new route. My $125.00 Garmen out preforms the MB system. I would think MB Nav Screen would be up to date and have a Google Satelite View as does my phone.
There are lots of little items to learn. Even the dealer is on an ongoing learning experience.
The Bi-Xenon headlamps are fantastic, they are a must have.
I am also pleased with the Premium Seating.
The Blue Tooth phone system is another issue of concern. I emailed mbusa and they sent me a reply sating my issues where handed over to the Technical Dept. and someone would be contacting me shortly. That was seven weeks ago and no one has contacted me, I am a little dissatied
with there lack of customer service.
