You absolutely have to see the color in person to know. I looked at pictures on several sites and in brochures and was about to order Steel Gray before I saw it and Palladium Silver in person. Thank goodness I did. The Palladium is what I was really looking for.

I always had black, i didn't see p silver at dealer first, when I saw a steel gray in person, it looks nice so I ordered my car in steel gray. After about a week I saw a palladium silver parked by train station, I called the dealer right away to change my order to p silver, it looks great on w212.

I had a black metallic with black inside. Did that baby shine!!!! I also had black without the metallic, would not recommend this color. Black metallic is the way to go.

Capri Blue
I almost went with the Capri Blue - my last 2 cars before my Obsidian GL were both a similar shade of blue. The one thing that turned me off about it was the flip-flop nature of the paint that MB uses. Don't get me wrong both my Lexus colors flip-flopped too on my GX (Blue Meridien Pearl) it was very similar to the Capri Blue sometimes it looked purple which was why when I got my IS I went with the (Blue Onyx Pearl) - which had alot of black metal flake in it and flip flopped more to black...really nice look.
The Capri Blue will flip flop to purple in certain lighting - and I just wasn't into it. Went with Palladium Silver and couldn't be happier. Wifey is driving an Iridium GL and in really bright sunlight that almost looks like a pearl white.
Color swatches in the brouchure and pictures on a computer screen do not work well to truly give you an idea of the car's true color - you need to see it in person.

There are a lot of black and white cars in my neighborhood. Have had black in the past. My wife currently has white. I wanted something different. My convertible that I turned in was steel gray. I went with the Capri blue. Have different layers of wax on it. Final layer is carnauba wax. The car looks wet, what a shine! The car does look purple in very bright sunlight, again what a shine!

Here is a link to an W212 picture thread, go to the bottom of the page for some Capri Blue shots.
I saw several when the W212 was first released. The blue looked very dark, especially on cloudy/rainy days.
Post your choice when you make it!

My W211 was black and my W212 is in black as well.
While I will say that no other color looks anywhere near as good as black when the car is clean, sadly it takes about an hour before a black car is covered in dust that can be seen in heavy sunlight, along with all sorts of streaks.
I think Iridium Silver is one of the most beautiful colors on the new E classes! I regret not getting mine in that color.
