Rear Spoiler in Canada?

I live in Canada and it is not possible to order the rear spoiler for the new E class. In the states, it is a $300 option. Do you think it is possible for the dealer to install the rear spoiler? I don't want to install those OEM spoiler on Ebay because I have seen other people cars that have rust around the spoiler due to improper installation.

You can order the spoiler from the parts department and have it painted/installed by a local body shop.

It is an adhesive tape install (no holes), thus rust should not be an issue.

Right. Well, you can drill holes in your beautiful trunklid to install something even classier and more durable if you like. I'll stick to the 3M tape, thanks.

Tape? Will that hold? I thought you needed some kind of automotive super glue to hold that spoiler.

Dealer said they can order one and install one for $1000. Is that worth it?

I had the dealer one installed. Absolutely love it. Makes a huge difference on the E-Class.
Have a look at my thread: "It's finally here..."

Yea, I can't believe it's $300USD as a factory option. Part + Install came up to almost $1,000 CDN for me as well.

lol what do u think they drill a hole in the e63 when they attach the spoiler? they always use 3m tape, its strong, durable and if u ever need to remove it then it will leave no messy residue

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz price list catalogue lists the rear spoiler as an accessory that costs $580 unpainted - this is a Canadian catalogue, so it should be available here. The extra $420 that your dealer wants may be due to painting and installation.

You must clean the adhesion surface on the trunk entirely; use some alcohol wipes. Let that dry before applying the spoiler with 3M automotive tape. The spoiler won't be going anywhere after that I guarantee. Also, you want to do this when the weather is relatively warm ... or in your temp controlled garages...

I discovered that the spoiler is different from the E63's. The E63's spoiler looks much more agressive and sportier. Do you guys know where I can get the cheapest E63 spoiler for W212? I need this shipped to Canada. Thanks.

I got mine from Gnarly Car Parts (I think that's the name). E63 spoiler is way nicer than the OEM 212 optional spoiler, and I was happy to see that Gnarly's is a replica of the E63 one.

I know the W211 E63 stock spoiler was attached w/ tape... I'm pretty sure the W212 E63 also uses tape...

I already ordered one for my W212 from one of the sponsers on this forum.... JBSpeed.

I purchased one from JBSpeed for my W211 and the fitment/paint was good enough. Came painted w/ the 3M tape so was pretty effortless and hella cheap for just around $200.00.
