Nightview assist/Infrared bulb removal

The manual says simply to remove the bulb but the bulb is in some sort of casing. I have p2 package with the xenons. I'm switching out the low beams to 5000k and need to swap out the inners (infrared night view assist) as well.

Inside of housing:

I wasn't able to remove the clip with the two black wires, even though I think if removed it wouldn't solve the problem. I believe the casing protecting the bulb is drilled in but I can't be sure. Any input would be great. Thanks

175 views and no one knows. These lights don't even match the OEM low beams. Someone must want to know! Will post answer when I figure it out.

Sorry I can't help with your original question.... But I am curious why you change the in fared bulbs? Are the different intensities of those?

I though I remembered seeing something about changing those in the manual but im sure you've already checked.

The infrared is a basic H11 bulb, the color barely even batches the OEM 4250k headlamp. I'm hoping someone has an answer for this before I head to the dealership. I'll be doing the bulb swap tomorrow and will need to remove the left tire so maybe I can get a clear view with some decent pictures of whats going on in there.

The IR light should not match the OEM headlamp, it should emit invisible IR light (after the conversion, as seen from outside). If you change this bulb to something else, you would loose your night-view performance and the visible colour would not change.

Are you actually more after the parking light bulb colour?

I finally was able to get in and see what bulb was in the casing. It is two LED chips that can not be removed or modified. I'm a bit upset and will probably just disconnect these lights.

Wow this is confusing. You have Nightvision but you want to disconnect it and you're upset that you can't? Why? Or am I misunderstanding?

I honestly don't know why they would put this light on the car and call it night view. They're two tiny led chips that look yellow once they pass through the projector. The cornering lights are cool(light up when you turn), and they can be interchanged with any H7 bulb. But to add a light in that area of the headlamp that can not be modified just does not make sense to me.

The point is I don't think they call the LEDs "night view". Night view has its own IR emitter. Can you explain what is your interpretation about "Night View"? It does look like you were working on a completely different "bulb".

Could those yellow led's be the front fog lights? I don't think they are IR bulbs.

yeah....I think the led chips are just the parking lights that sit in the same housing which are sorta bluish in color. I have night vision and I can never see the night vision lamps themselves light up like the picture that is posted. Its really cool though how strong those are when in night vision mode.

The manual says it is the IR/Nightview for the bi xenon cars but I have just realized that this part of the headlamp is the parking light. That makes it even ridiculous, I don't even need parking lamps.

Well, "he" may not be human at all, never know these days. At least US (or other) laws do not bind him when he says he does not need parking lights in his car.

Please post pics of the car with only 1 of the 2 lights on each side on at night. I have a feeling i won't look too good....
