NEED HELP ON THE BLUETOOTH AUDIO

Hello,
I just recently purchased a 2010 E350. I did a lot of research and found out how to enable bluetooth audio from the engineering menu. It works, however, it must be connected by using the iphone to search for the Comand. However, whenever I turn the car off, I need to reauthorize this again.
I see many people with this issue.
Has anyone actually solved it? I called my local dealer, and they seem clueless about a firmware update. Is there a way to update the firmware myself?
Does anyone have any solutions?

Is it there, i saw it before just forgot what selection it is.. Once you find it turn it on.. then tell your dealer bluetooth audio keeps needing authorization on start.. They should update it if your under warranty for it to show Bluetooth Audio under "Audio".

I can't get streaming to connect with my iPhone 5, but I don't know who's fault that is. In the phone menu, for connecting a new phone, I don't have an external auth option - only auth. (BT phoning works fine)
I've taken some pictures of any screen that seemed to show a S/W version, though none of them show anything similar to the version #s in a previous post above: SW Version: 0029024000 to 0009026706-001

Have you tried EXTERNAL AUTHORIZATION in the car's menu?

Found External Auth - streaming now working
Thanks Arrie, I found that option - I wasn't expecting it off "Update". Ok, so now BT streaming with my iPhone5 is working!
I'm still wondering whether I'm running the current version of SW. The POI Map option is disabled - this tells me I'm running older SW. BT streaming is working, though not showing song/artist info - I thought an upgrade was needed for the 2010 E for BT streaming to work?

I had 2011 E350 and it did have audio streaming but it did not work correctly. One of the problems was that I had to authorize it every time when I started the car. After updated SW it did it automatically.
I now drive a 2010 E550 and have the updated SW and it works flawlessly.

It worked! But it only shows the temperature displayed in the Command unit, not the fan setting and the mode that its in though. But I'm happy with it just showing the temperature on the Command display.

I had 2011 E350 and it did have audio streaming but it did not work correctly. One of the problems was that I had to authorize it every time when I started the car. After updated SW it did it automatically.

After the software update you may run in the problem of lost audio that happens randomly. In case this happens your dealer needs to revert the SDAR software back to make the system stable. After this you will still have BT streaming and all.

I was hoping, but wasn't expecting traffic to start working after the SW upgrade. After re-sending the signal from the Sirius site (I had tried this several times before the upgrade) - I now see traffic.
I no longer need to re-authorize for BT streaming.
BT streaming shows the song/album/artist names.
Nav:
While looking at a POI, the map option is enabled.
Traffic:
I was hoping, but wasn't expecting traffic to start working after the SW upgrade. After re-sending the signal from the Sirius site (I had tried this several times before the upgrade) - I now see traffic.

Good it all works! Let's hope you don't run to those random system mute issues. If you do then go back and ask them to revert the SDAR SW.

BT Audio Streaming and Phone
Hi All,
I followed the instructions here and activated the BT Audio. Then did External Authorization to connect My Iphone 5. My iphone5 was connected previously as a phone, but when I connected it as a BT Audio device, the phone over BT stopped working.
Any Ideas would help?
